Izakaya Takero Korakuen — Restaurant in Tokyo

Husband and I stumbled on this gem for dinner. The English pronunciation of this place is "Takero". We speak very little Japanese but we love holidaying in Japan and love all Japanese cuisine. We trust Japanese eateries and chefs to know their stuff. It's hard to find a bad meal in Japan. We usually ask the chef's/waiters for "omakase", which is "your choice". And we did so in this instance, too. The chef selected a series of small dishes which we loved. Fresh, delicious, textural. Ranging from karaage daikon, vegetable in dashi broth with glutinous rice cakes, grilled chicken, konyaku with saffron....it was just amazing. I have only 1 photo to show because we ate all the food! The staff are overwhelmingly helpful here. We booked a spot for the following evening in this quiet street near Tokyo Dome. Although we don't speak Japanese we managed through tech and gesturing to get to the point. Our food was outstanding with surprising textures and elegant earthy presentation. We asked for their recommendations and they served us 6 courses with sake. We hear that the chef also makes pizza. Good range of Sake from Japan and a lovely warm atmosphere, I would recommend it to anyone. English language is not spoken here, so have your language guide handy for the super nice folks that run one of my favourite...

カジュアルに和定食ランチを楽しめる 小馳走蔵TAKERO 。

春駅から徒歩1分、後楽園駅からも徒歩3分の小道に入ったところにある店舗。

外観は黄土色の壁面に小さい看板が出ている店構え。

内観はカウンター6席とテーブル席2卓、2階にも席があるこぢんまりとした店舗。

前を通った時に少し列が出来ていて出入りも多かったので用事を済ませて訪問。 店内に入ると愛想の良い女性店員さん達がカウンターに立ちカジュアルに和定食を楽しめるお店だった。

メニューは6種類から選択できて全て税込1200円。 今回は清流地鶏南蛮を注文。

■清流地鶏南蛮 1200円 清流地鶏南蛮、タルタルソース、明太子、赤出汁、ご飯、漬物、サラダが付いてくる。 メインの清流地鶏南蛮もボリュームもしっかりでご飯も大盛り可能なのでしっかり満腹になれる構成。 清流地鶏南蛮はソースは絡めずシンプルにサラッとしたタルタルソースのみだったのでソースもあるとより飽きずにいただける印象だった。少し火が通り過ぎてパサついていたが鶏の味わいは美味しかった。

優しい和定食をいただけるので最近健康志向な自分には嬉しいランチだった。
