Karayama Shinbashi branch — Restaurant in Tokyo

Lovely karaage near Shimbashi Station. Really love the karaage from this place but foreigners beware , the menu at the station is purely in Japanese. Would recommend a handy google translate to help out.

Normally one would get a ticket from the machine in the front and either a seat or walk to the back to queue and await to be called. This place is often packed with local Japanese office workers during weekday lunch time.

I had the nanban chicken set in the video which was delicious with a nice balance of what seems to be egg mayo and sweet sauce on top of the fried chicken.

【2024/04/06 更新】 昨年食べ逃した「梅おろしからあげ定食」が期間限定で復活しましたので、唐揚げを1個追加して頂きました。 ふりかけのゆかり的なものが唐揚げにかけてありますので梅の感じはまあまあありますが、普通に通常の唐揚げをを食べたほうが遥かに美味しいと思います。 大葉の切り方が物凄く雑で見た目も悪く、微妙でした。 限定物は大体頂いていますが、何度もリピートしたいと思うほど美味しいモノに出会ったことがありません。 「梅おろしからあげ定食」　星2

【2023/11/28 更新】 期間限定の「すきやき盛り定食」に唐揚げを1個追して頂きました。 大量のフライドポテト、少量の豚肉のすき焼き、唐揚げ2個、下に敷き詰められたうどんと奇抜な内容です。 通常生卵が付属しますが、食べれないので箸をつける前に下げてもらったら、「温玉に変えましょうか？」言われたので変えて頂きました。 すきやき盛定食は980円しますが、はっきり言いまして食べていて凄く貧乏臭いといいますか、惨めな気分になりました。

すき焼きダレが染みたポテトとうどんでご飯を食べるのは私には無理ですし、唐揚げ2個と量が少なく、牛肉ではなく豚肉でしかも少量ということも相まって、給料日前に妥協して豚ですき焼きを作った記憶が蘇ってきました。 食べていて悲しくなったのは久々です。

We loved it! After finding a long queue at another restaurant, we hazarded lunch at this place. There was a short wait of 10 minutes for the counter seats after buying a ticket from the vending machine. The staff were very nice to seat our kids together with us even though it was a busy service.
