Komeda's Coffee Kichijōji Daiya-gai — Restaurant in Tokyo

We went to this location in the afternoon on Sunday. It was really packed, and few people already waiting for their tables. The wait area was really small and kind of awkwardly arranged, there was barely enough space for people to leave the coffee shop with the people waiting right around there.

Interior was spacious and bright with lots of natural light coming in from large windows. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere, with wood and red brick throughout. When our name was finally called, we walked over to one of the window seats.

I am more of a tea person than coffee, but I do appreciate a good cup of coffee, especially with milk. I ordered Café au Lait. My sister ordered Blended Coffee, and my husband went with Iced Coffee. Each coffee came with a small packet of bean snacks.

We ordered a Mini Shiro-Noir to share, and my nice also ordered Matcha Kakigori. We had a really nice afternoon coffee time with my sister and my niece. Since my husband really likes coffee, he was very happy to find another great coffee shop in Japan, and since they have so many locations, it is not hard to get to when we are in Japan. Komeda’s Coffee is the perfect spot for a relaxing morning. They start serving their fantastic breakfast sets from 7 AM. The spacious seating area allows you to unwind comfortably, and with a selection of newspapers and magazines, it’s a great place to catch up on the news.

The hand towels provided are Komeda’s own, adding a nice touch of personalization. While you can order using a QR code, it requires a specific app, so if you don’t have it, it’s easier to call over a staff member.

On Sundays, around 10 AM, the place is about 80% full, but at 8 AM, it’s only about 30% occupied. This makes it an ideal time for a leisurely morning. If you need to get some work done, the window seats have power outlets, making it convenient to charge your devices. The staff regularly refills your water, ensuring you can stay as long as you like.
