I found a big piece of glass in my food here: This is a few years back, but I went here on a date and found a large piece of glass in my salad. Actually and luckily, I pulled it out of my mouth before I bit down on it. When I told the manager he looked confused and took the glass away. Later when I paid the check he offered me a 10% discount on my next meal there. As I was on a date I didn't make a big deal about it. I went back the next day and raised a stink about it asking him "What can possibly be worse than finding glass in your food?" He made some calls and later that night refunded the cost of my meal. This still irks me years later, to be honest. I don't know what was worse, finding the glass or the whole "why are you doing this to me?" attitude of the manager. As you can imagine, I'd (literally) rather eat glass than go back...
Read moreThe food itself was quite good. Not overwhelming but definitely good. Pasta portion size was quite small for the price and the price in general is a little high. I have to deduct stars for two things though. Firstly, you are forced to order a drink, which are all quite overpriced, when we would have much prefered just taking water. This is something I usually only expect in Izakayas, not restaurants. And secondly, there is a hidden tax price which gets added to your total. I really hate when restaurants dont at least tell you the taxed price on the menu, as that is what you will have to pay. Made our total price go up bx 400¥ which we didnt know of. So overall food was good, portions a little small and problems with prices and tax. Ir you can overlook these things then maybe try it for the...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went to La Befana in mid January for dinner. We were craving for a good pizza in Shimokitazawa and we found what we were looking for. This is a small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and it really resembles a real italian restaurant. We ordered two pizza and a tiramisù dessert, everything was great, the pizza is cooked in the italian style pizza oven and it tastes just like a good italian pizza. Also the dessert was surprisingly close to how we make it in Italy.
The staff is considerate and friendly, and the price is very fair for what you eat. We really reccommend "La Befana" to everyone who's looking for a nice and authentic...
