SERVICE: We had an outstanding experience here! The service was exceptional! Servers were highly attentive and clearly went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our time in this very classy establishment.
FOOD: The food was beautiful and resembled art. Flavour-wise though, dishes were standard and didn’t really stand out in terms of taste. My favourite item was actually the financiers they gave us as a parting gift. Absolutely delectable! I would buy boxes of these if they sold them like that, and if I were still in Japan!
AMBIENCE: The building itself is very grand and impressive to walk up to. Not what a typical restaurant would look like. Seating is decently spaced out and comfortable. Rowdiness is not acceptable here, which I can appreciate. Loud singing of birthday songs will be hushed out of respect to the peace of other diners.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: This was such a memorable dinner for us, mostly because we felt very taken care of and the staff made sure our anniversary celebration was a joyous occasion. They offered to take pictures for is with our phones and theirs, and then gave it to us in a frame. It’s gestures like these that really connect with patrons. You are not only providing dinner, but you helped create fond memories. I highly recommend La Table and I can’t wait to come back next year! Thank you for...
Read moreWe were at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum for their latest exhibition when we saw a stunning French Château across from the museum. We took a look and discovered it houses 2 Joel Robuchon restaurants. La Table was fully booked that day. Our holiday plans were to sample only Japanese cuisine. But we decided to make a reservation for the following Monday and made the long commute back for lunch. It was the right decision. A very impressive Ikebana flower arrangement stands at the entrance of the restaurant. The waiter was amazing and very friendly. He guided us through the set lunch menu and helped select the food that suits our dietary constraints. He told us the La Table serves French casual dining, and they have a 3 Michelin star sister restaurant (Château Restaurant, Joel Robuchon) on the upper floor. The presentation of the food was a work of art, and the food, fresh and delicious. The waiter also took the time to explain each of the dishes that we were eating. The ambience of the restaurant was great with the tables well spread out. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There is also outdoor seating where you can bring your pets. The chef can even prepare a tasting menu for your pet. Do note that the restaurant requests that men wear a...
Read moreLA TABLE Joël Robuchon occupies a wing inside Joël Robuchon château. Not only the ostentatious building itself already starts to tell you an incredible story, but also the bold choice of purple colour throughout the whole interior adds to a magical tranquil atmosphere of a secluded timeless space where everything is a bit different to the outside world. From the start you’re given a warm welcome, staff is polite, but not arrogant or posh. Music is unobtrusive, tables are positioned very sparsely, so the intimate atmosphere is not ruined even though the place is full.
Food is simple, easy to understand and delicious. It’s a perfect combination of an incredible presentation and simple ingredients which are brought to their full potential. Probably the only thing I found a bit underwhelming was dessert, especially comparing to the desserts at L’Atelier in Roppongi (which were, simply put, magnificent). But my whole experiences was very pleasant and I would gladly come again.
Also note, nothing here...
