I recently visited Lare Coffee shop and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The variety of sweets on offer was impressive, and it was great to learn that they were all made by the lovely 90 year old chef, who first established this traditional Japanese Coffee Shop in 1964. Currently, the son of the original owner is running the show, and he was a delight to interact with. He was incredibly kind and treated each customer like family, which really added to the welcoming atmosphere of the shop.
In addition to the great service, the coffee at Lare Coffee shop is top-notch. They roast their own beans in-house, and the selection of imported beans from across the globe on display was truly impressive. The authentic decor of the shop, with sacks of coffee beans on display, really added to the overall cute, kitschy and maximalist atmosphere. I was also happy to see that they sell roasted beans for customers to take home, which is always a nice touch.
