Le monde Shimokitazawa — Restaurant in Tokyo

Came here after a bit of walking around Shimo-Kitazawa. Wasn't expecting too much, but the staff were very accommodating of our needs and helped to seat us (a large party of 6) together in an otherwise small restaurant.

We ordered their steak ribeye medium rare, and they delivered, with a steak that had enough chew on it and a delightful amount of herbed butter as well.

Absolutely excellent. A small, focused menu that allows them to reach true perfection in each dish. The steak was cooked flawlessly, with a delicate soy balance and refined European-Japanese influence in every seasoning. Great selection of wine as well.

The staff were really kind and welcoming, they spoke perfect English, took time to help us practice our Japanese, and made the whole experience genuinely enjoyable. A real gem in Shimokitazawa : both for the food...
