Maguro-to-Shari Shibuya — Restaurant in Tokyo

If you're dining in and finished eating, please don't just sit there and chat, especially in a small, 6-8 counter seat establishment.

Not entirely the staff's part, but we were waiting outside for seats. We seen some foreigners with their luggage inside, their bowls were empty, and they were just chatting with their friends. We thought they would leave soon after seeing us waiting outside, so we waited. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were fed up and decided to get takeout. As soon as our food was ready, that's when the diners decided to leave also, smh. It felt weird to ask the staff to change the order to dine-in instead, because they also needed to clear the previous diner's area, so we just grabbed our takeout and left.

As for the food during takeout, it was provided in separate packaging, probably because the bowl I ordered was too big for their takeout bowls. I felt like it wasn't as good and can tell it would've been better eating in. I can tell the staff saw us, but didn't want to be rude to their current diners to ask them to leave after they were...

High quality tuna for an affordable price 🐟

The best thing about Maguro to Shari is the wide variety of bowls you can order. I think they actually have a bowl that can fit everyone's budget 🤩 I decided to go with a mid-range option which consisted of normal tuna, chuutoro, and otoro! I also got a normal sized portion of rice. The freshness of the tuna was superb which made me very happy after a long day of walking around Shibuya ☀️ I definitely think I should have ordered less rice though as that was what made me full 😅 But I have no regrets because you can actually order dashi here and turn your leftover rice into ochazuke 😋 When you order dashi, it also comes with a few cuts of yuzu which I always love!

Seats are quite limited so I suggest to come early! Orders are done via a machine so don't worry too much about the language barrier. The staff are also very friendly and seemed to be quite happy when a foreign family used a translation app to ask questions! I found the interaction to be...

This is my second time visiting this restaurant as a tourist, and it exceed expectations both times! This is a smaller restaurant where you order at a machine, and provide the order slip to the chef for them to prepare your meal. The hospitality has been amazing, complimentary miso soup and green tea was provided, with unlimited refill! Delicious! Highly recommend getting any of the tuna varieties as they are all very fresh, extremely high quality, and delicious!

Last week when I was here, there was an entitled tourist who felt the need to complain about feeling rushed when there were no pressure at all.
