Goo Italiano Shibuya — Restaurant in Tokyo

I wasn’t expecting the carbonara here to be this good, but it was absolutely amazing—one of the most authentic I’ve ever had. This easily ranks in my top five carbonaras, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot. The fact that this came from a place in Japan made it even more surprising.

The dish was everything a proper carbonara should be—creamy, rich, and perfectly peppery, with high-quality guanciale that added incredible depth of flavor. The portion was generous for the price (around 24 AUD), making it well worth it. The presentation was great, and despite the language barrier, the service was excellent.

Great place to have a date or hangout with friends over very good authentic (non-Japanized) Italian food and drinks at reasonable prices. While portions aren't miniscule, keep in mind that this is clearly a quality quantity kind of establishment. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, atmosphere was lively but not chaotic and they are open until midnight.

Made a reservation for ten people first, later changed to six people on the day. In the pictures the restaurant looked small but was not as small as we thought.

Six people could easily fit. No one took us table so we were a bit confused even though they knew we made a reservation.
