My partner and I were able to make a walk in appointment on a Saturday morning which I am still thrilled about. The website says booking and payment is needed two days prior so I didn't think it would be possible - our travel plans changed quite a lot so it wasn't possible to book an appointment ahead of time. I am so grateful to all the staff for helping us, the final result will give us happy memories for a lifetime 💕

Getting the accessories that cost extra are worth it for the total look: the nicer obi and rope accessories, the hair styling, the nicer hair flowers. The staff did considerately point us towards the free items, but I think it's best to chose what looks good and not worry about the price since this activity is not something you need to do regulary. Make it a special day!

Some things to note for foreigners: -the sizes available are for small people, my kimono did not reach my wrists as it was supposed to and was too short on the ankles. They have a lace underskirt added length to the bottom but the wrists, you just have to hope no one pays attention -the shoes are for thin feet, if you have wide feet - bring your own shoes -there are lots of layers to wearing kimono, you will overheat if booking for a hot day or preparing to walk around a lot in them

The ladies at this rental location are welcoming, kind and very friendly. There are many options to choose from for the ladies, the men is a little more limited. They help you pick out color combinations for your accessories. You have “options” (additional fees) or free accessories to choose from. I was surprised that they also did my hair - minimal/simple braid with flower. Included in the rental was a bag/purse that goes with the whole outfit and you can carry your things around.

Coming in, they provide you a large bag where you put your clothes/shoes/belongings (they had me just undress my shirt, keep on my tank top and shorts - same as my husband). I was also doing a maternity photoshoot so they had me sign a pregnancy waiver. The ladies dressed me up and could be a little tight/uncomfortable in the heat - i was fine. Slippers are a little difficult to walk in, my husband got a blister between his toes within the first 20-30 minutes of walking. We had the rental for ~2 hours. Return was very easy.
