If you’re wandering the backstreets of Akabane and see a crowd gathered around metal carts under fluorescent lights, follow your nose — and your luck — straight to this oden gem.
We rolled up on a humid evening and were immediately welcomed by a warm, bustling vibe. The woman running the tables spoke excellent English (thanks to five years in Seattle!) and patiently walked us through what to order. Pro tip: let her choose — she knows exactly what she’s doing.
The oden? Umami bombs in broth. Each piece better than the last. The house mustard hits hard, in the best way. And the real secret sauce? Ask them to top your sake cup with dashi. Trust me. Warm, boozy, and savoury — it’s like a hug from a Japanese grandma in a cup.

This oden stand doesn't worth making a row.
Owner of this stand seems to cheat on charge. He asked 500 yen without showing price list. Why wasn't it like 490 or 510? Observe how he count the payment. He doesn't. I could't be sure if he asked for accurate payment because there arn't any price list in this stand.
Tastes same level with Seven Eleven oden.
Only the old atmosohere seems valuable. There arn't any other value.
Overrated by foreigners. It tastes nothing special.
"Dashiwari" is an insult on Sake. By buying oden soup, costomers mix cheap sake with oden soup, here. Is it really...
