Maruki — Restaurant in Tokyo

My first 1 star review. This place is a straight no go for me. Went on a weekday night, was full of noisy, drinking businessmen that were louder than a Kpop concert. It's also a smoking area so there were a lot of smoke. The table charge did not taste good at all. And then we waited over an hour for our food and when the sashimi finally came, it was so bad. Most of it cannot be chewed through and had no taste at all.

Worst food experience in Japan, would not recommend. Don't understand how they had above 4 stars. Perhaps people came here just to drink? Or was it because we were foreigners? Unsure. At least the photo looks...

A horrible dining experience! The servers did not seem interested in serving us. The place was filled with smoke as there were customers smoking inside so be prepared. People were shouting and laughing at the top of their voices. After we ordered, we waited for almost an hour for our food. When we asked ‘ why is the food taking so long’, the waiter did not apologise but just nodded. The sashimi was so thick it was impossible to chew through. Both types of umeshu was bad. The otoshi was absolute trash. Worst meal I had in Japan. If I could give negative stars I would. Please stay away. It was a TOTAL...

コロナ前は良く利用させていただいてたのですが、久々にランチに伺いました。 生鮪刺身定食をいただきました。 分厚い国産の生本マグロが5枚と、さつま芋、蓮根、椎茸、茄子、ししとうの天ぷらと、様々な魚の味噌煮、すまし汁、胡瓜の漬物、ライスが付いて900円はコスパ良すぎです。 鮪は流石に脂が控えめの物でしたが、さっぱりとしていて優しい油分が美味しかったです。 天ぷらは作り置きなのでぬるめ、衣も厚く専門店のような物ではなかったですが、たっぷりの大根おろしと生姜を天つゆに溶いて浸す事で衣が緩くなるのでこれはこれで箸休めに良かったです。 味噌煮は濃い目の味付けでほろほろと肉が崩れ、こちらも箸休めとして良かったです。 すまし汁はワカメと葱のシンプルな物でワカメの出汁がダイレクトに感じる優しい味わいでした。 ライスのおかわりも無料なのでたくさん食べる方は大満足かと思います。 食後のコーヒーもセルフサービスで付いているので驚異的です。 店長さんも変わらずお元気な様子で良かったです。 タバコも吸えます。

2022.02再訪 軽く飲みに伺いました。 コロナ前はよく飲みでも利用させていただいていましたが、数年ぶりの夜訪問でした。 生まぐろぶつ(長崎産)、白子ポンズ、焼きうどんなどなどをいただきました。 とにかくメニューが豊富で、和食全般を網羅しています。 まぐろ(本マグロ？)も新鮮で、ぶつとはいえ280円での提供は頭が上がりません。 白子ポン酢もスタンダードな鱈の白子で、臭みなく380円とコスパ良すぎです。 タバコも吸え、サラリーマンの憩いの場だと思うので長...
