Keio University — Attraction in Tokyo

As a student here my opinion is very biased, so let's just talk about the architecture of Mita Campus.

It is old, dating back to 1860s, if not older. The campus has been through several renovations, and unfortunately almost all of the original structures are gone. Except for Mita Enzetsukan and a huge ginko tree which is even older than the university itself!

The second oldest building is the Old Library, a piece of Gothic architecture built in red brick. It was originally built in 1919 if I'm not mistaken, but has been through several renovations, since it was destroyed during WWII when the campus was bombarded. Latest renovations started a few years ago, and were originally planned to end in June 2020, but idk how far they have progressed with the Covid-19 situation.

The campus was rewamped after WWII by Isami Noguchi and Taniguchi Yoshio. But alas all of these buildings are also gone. They were not built to withstand earthquakes. Ever since many different architects and recently architectural companies have taken charge of rebuilding the Mita Campus. This resulted in the lack of harmony. Nevertheless, the campus has some interesting pieces of architecture, old and new. It is beautiful and contains around 200 years of history, not to mention the many centuries before when it served as the estate of a Japanese Feudal Lord (daimyo).

我が国私学の雄。各界全般に人材を輩出してきているライバル早稲田大学と比べると、経済界、（世襲な）政界・実業界、テレビ局（いわゆるミスコン→女子アナさんなイメージ）などのマスメディアに特に強い大学のイメージがあると思います。国内ではトップクラスの知名度とブランド力がある一方、グローバル化のなかで、アジア、世界での知名度やブランド力を高めることが課題だと思います（そのため星印４つ）。

幼稚舎から、普通部から、中等部から、塾高（慶應高校@日吉）から、志木高から、（慶應）女子高から、ＳＦＣ高から、ニューヨーク学院から、一般入試入学でも第一志望組と東大、京大、一橋などの併願入学組、指定校推薦、ＦＩＴ入試などの自己推薦型など、多様な塾生を集めています。

文学部：実学の慶應義塾ながら学部紹介の筆頭にくる文学部。社会学や心理学、教育学を含め、人文科学を幅広く学べます。内部進学組のお金持ち度は実は文学部の方が高い気が（特に女子高とニューヨーク学院）。

経済学部：理財科以来の慶應義塾の看板学部。昨今の内部進学の人気は法学部のほうがみたいですが、慶應の経済、早稲田の政経は健在だと思います。数学必須の一般入試方式の定員が多いこともあり、東大・一橋・京大の併願合格→入学組も多い。仮面浪人で元々の第一志望校に去る人も、仮面浪人受験失敗で残留する人も、少なくとも法学部や文学部よりは多いです、よね？慶應義塾愛塾心の高い塾生と国立大への複雑な思いを拭い去れない塾生と、どちらもいます。数学必須ではない入試Ｂ方式入学でも、慶應で経済学を学ぶのであれば数学ができた方がいいです。英語・数学・小論文の入試のＡ方式だと、東大理系や医学部残念組の入学者もいますよ。

法学部：法律学科と政治学科の２学科構成。一般入試やＦＩＴ入試では第一志望入学組が多く、経済や商と比べて慶應義塾に満足や誇りを感じる塾生が多い気が。ＦＩＴ入試は体育会部活の強化としても使われていますよね？法曹志望の法律学科生は予備試験目指して、黄色い司法試験予備校を使う方が多いと思います。

商学部：経済学部から分離独立して発足。実学の精神を最も反映する学部。一般入試の英語、数学、地歴のＡ方式は一橋、東大、京大との併願のためにある？経済は東大（文II 文I...
