Came here for lunch and got the Special Pork Loin Cutlet Meal and WOW it was so good!!! I've never had Tonkatsu like that before. The meat was so tender, juicy, and thick! The fat literally melted in my mouth. It's a huge portion of food. The breading was super good too! The cabbage with sauce was crunchy and fresh. I really enjoyed using lemon on the pork and occasionally dipping it in the salt provided. It was nice too because an employee showed us what to do before we started eating.
We lined up about 20 minutes before they opened for lunch and there was already a handful of people waiting and the line slowly grew longer. A very nice and helpful employee took our order while we were waiting outside and gave us an English menu and he also understood basic English.
The seating inside is small, intimate, and smells amazing. You can see the chefs cooking a bunch of Tonkatsus for takeout and dine in.
They take cash only! My meal cost 2200 yen which was amazing for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend coming here for lunch if you're...
Read moreReally good tonkatsu restaurant, definitely the best I’ve ever had. There is a line even on a Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm, where the cut off for last orders is at 2:30 pm.
Food: You have a couple of options that vary depending on the cut of pork used, but this place really only serves tonkatsu. The loin option is fattier compared to the filet, with more flavour though slightly less tender. The coating is crispy yet easy to eat through. They recommend using lemon + salt or lemon + shoyu; personally I prefer the latter but both are good. Portions are very large, though you can ask for less or more rice.
Service is efficient; you order when you’re in line and they bring the food out when you’re at your table. Cash only to...
Read moreThe Ton Katsu here was the best I have ever had.
I had the Special Pork Loin Ton Katsu with medium rice and medium cabbage. The pork was perfectly cooked and amazingly tender. The Katsu sauce was fantastic as well.
This is a small restaurant that requires you wait outside until a table is available. They will take your order while you wait. The outside very sleek and modern, but the inside is wooden and traditional.
As an English speaker I was presented with an English menu. There is an Extra Special Ton Katsu available for English speakers, but I did not try it. (They use Rib meat for this and there is a 25 minute wait for this special item) I opted for the regular menu items and I can honestly say it was...
