If you are looking for something "quirky" and cheap, go for it. However if you are looking for a really good night sleep, stay away. I thought I'd try it for something different and fun. However I soon found out that there's not much privacy, the beds are very uncomfortable and stiff, and it's very noisy with other guests opening and closing their "cabin shutters". The thin flimsy shutters also don't go close all the way (approx 30cm gap at the bottom) so you can hear other people in their pods moving around and making noise. Also people are coming in at all hours, and when you open/close the shutter, it makes quite a noise which can wake you up at 3am. The person in the cabin next to me got up in the night a few times, and EVERY TIME it woke me up. They ask you not to use your phone alarm as it will wake other guests up. I heard no less than 4 other guests' phone alarms going off in the morning from 5am onwards. Airflow is not good either and the room can get very hot. Also, there is only one elevator servicing all floors, so sometimes you can be waiting 5 mins just to get in the elevator. The bed and pillows were extremely stiff and very difficult to sleep on. Staff were nice and amenities were fine. I paid for 2-nights but ended up leaving after only one night. Booked a small self-contained hotel room elsewhere for 9,000 yen / night and it was much more comfortable. For the sake of saving 4,000 yen, you're better off getting a proper hotel and having a comfortable, private sleep.

You're paying extra for the same experience as a cheaper capsule hotel, unless you're staying First Class but then I would wonder why you'd not pay similar for a buisness hotel. Very little shared storage space for luggage with no where left to secure our suitcase, it's loud throughout the night with minimum courtesy from the other (solely) tourist clientele and there's a fight for sinks/toilets anywhere around morning/evening. Whilst we were staying they were also tearing up the pavement outside so we had to be escourted by workers through the construction site to enter the hotel, work continued whilst we were there and was audiable inside. The lifts are also a nightmare and trapped me in the door more than once, damaging a designer bag in the process. I should persue damages as there's no way the doors should be closing so fast and not reopening once they sense someone/something is stuck. We also witnessed someone else be noticely injured when they themselves got caught in the lift doors.

I loved my every second here as a solo traveller last month! I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights here and I loved it so much! 5 stars are well-deserved from the very friendly front desk staff to the rooms and the basement hot bath! Rooms as well are not the capsules you'd imagine because there was plenty of space for my backpacks! There was also a vending machine on my floor whenever I felt thirsty in my room. The location is absolutely top-notch, many restaurants within 200 meters. It is also a 10-minute subway ride (though you have to transfer at Omotesando) from Shibuya and provides easy access to ALL tourist spots from Asakusa, Akihabara, and Shinjuku! There is also a cafe in front of the front desk that serves coffee, pastries, and some food items till 5:30 PM! Super PERFECT for solo travellers who don't have really big luggage.

The only reason I give this 4 stars out of 5 is simply because on the 6th floor there is no shower facility! In order to shower you need to catch the lift to the basement where there are only 2 showers available for up to 50 women. Now I’ve managed to find an empty ahower every time I’ve gone however I’m all fresh out of bed in my pjs with my clothes, towel and toiletry bag under my arm in a lift where anyone can jump in from multiple floors including reception on level 2. Ahh mortifying! Now the good bits! This capsule hotel is clean clean clean. The staff are lovely and sweet and a big thumbs up to the cleaning staff who made up my room even when I decided to have a long sleep in on my birthday. They are very patient. There are complimentary products in the bathrooms and showers and also at reception. Reception has items such as shower caps, hair clips, ear plugs, ear phones, lathering shower net sponge things, toothbrushes and mini tooth paste. There ate 2 x drinks vending machines In the basement and a laundry (machine only take 100 yen coins and you will need 4-5 coins to do a load. There are men’s showers and a men’s onsen, and seperate to the is a ladies showers and ladies onsen. For those that have never used and onsen, u all get naked into the bath. Google the rules. Water temp is hot, 40 degrees. U need to go into the room naked (there’s a change room where u store all of your clothes in a container. U enter the onsen (spa bath room) and u must wash all your girly bits thoroughly before getting into the onsen. You can not put ur hair into the onsen water. Ok so back to the capsule hotel itself - use ear plugs! It can get noisy just people unzipping suitcases or crunching plastic bags or even sliding up and down their door blinds. Ear plugs are a must. Beds are firm but bedding, towels, complimentary pajamas and complimentary slippers are changed everyday by the cleaning staff for you. Wear the pjs. The first night I wore just the top and undies and I got cold! Next night I wore the bottoms and slept much better. The capsules have a tv. A light the dims, two power sockets to help charge all our tech gear. And an aircon that only works if your light is turned on. There is also a lockable area within your room for valuables. Your door however does not lock. There is an o room with no door where you can store large luggage and some bike locks if you would like to lock them in. The floor has a toilet and Bathroom area where you can do your hair and make up etc. only thing missing is...

I came to Tokyo for the first time with my sister a couple weeks ago. We stayed in the Akasaka location and went in without knowing what to expect. The place is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly and polite. The cabin i stayed in was a business cabin and i have to say it was very comfortable. The beds are a little firm but I’m personally a big fan. The cafe on the second floor lobby is very good as well especially for a cappuccino. Not a great place if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage but if you’re coming to japan to sightsee I definitely recommend packing light since there isn’t much room on public transportation and you have to act quickly sometimes. The bath accommodations here are great and you will get pj’s, slippers, towels, and even a toothbrush. The bathroom has hairdryers and sharp, shampoos conditioners, hairbrushes, hairdryers and all shaving equipment you may require. The location is very close to the Akasaka train station and the building is very easy to find. Local cuisine is very good as well but make sure you avoid places that have a cover charge. Good money exchange place nearby that gives you a better rate if you bring the flier that you get at the front desk. The place is really great, we stayed for 4 nights and would stay again anytime. I would’ve liked to stay in the first class cabin but the sell out quickly so if you have a chance book that one since you get some floor space and it makes it a little easier to navigate. Highly recommended!! Thank you First Cabin for...
