Where to start??!!!|We absolutely LOVE this hotel ❤️ ||Everything about it brought us joy and made this trip even more special.||We arrived very early, and had a magnificent ride to the hotel from Haneda airport. As our room was not ready due to our early arrival, we were able to leave our bags safely and explored Akasaka at 8am in the morning.||Additionally, we had arrived on a national holiday - Sports Day, it was magnificent to see Adults and Children enjoying sport on such an early morning.||We walked around to find food, admittedly it was a Burger King - but the body needs what it wants 😂 and then a cheeky Starbucks and use of the free WiFi.||We were able to get into our room early and was not disappointed, compact with a lovely bathroom and air conditioning - the temp was 24 - 30 degrees for our time there.||Situated in the heart of Akasaka, Hotel Hillarys was a beacon for the beginning of our travels and a great place to come home to.|So many restaurants to choose from, but a word of warning - set off by 6pm for a seat in one of the restaurants/bars situated either side of the roads of the Hotel.|So busy, but if you don't end up getting in - you can't go wrong with a Wendy's. Next level as they serve alcohol there!!!!!||There is a rooftop restaurant that doubles as a bar after 3pm, where you can see the magnificent views and skylines. |For only ¥2500 per person, there is a free bar and snacks to eat from 3pm till 12am. |Definitely worth it if you've been using the subway and survived Shinjuku station 😂 ||So many Subway stations are situated here, so once you get your head around the lines (think colours) and the options are endless.|Not far to travel too, and we stumbled upon the Suntory Museum of Art, that was only a 20 minute walk away through the heart of Akasaka.|From there a very upmarket department store, which led us out to Midtown located in Roppongi and the Fuji museum. Beautiful!!!||We will be coming back as the staff are so friendly and there is nothing that...
Read moreDo not trust any review above 2 1/2 for this property. I had a very disappointing stay at Hotel Hillarys Akasaka in Tokyo. The photos of the rooms online are completely misleading. Upon arrival, I found the room to be shockingly small—nowhere near what was advertised. The bathroom was so cramped that I could barely close the door while inside, making it very uncomfortable to use. The phone to call to the front desk also did not work. You also could not see out of the windows which makes the whole room feel like a prison cell.
What makes it worse is that they charge 4-star hotel prices for what feels like hostel-quality accommodations. The room lacked the space and comfort I’d expect at this price point, leaving me feeling overcharged and underwhelmed.
Additionally, I had an issue with their cancellation policy. I was charged an expensive cancellation fee despite my dissatisfaction with the booking. They will charge you regardless if you choose to stay the night. This policy felt unfair and inflexible, especially given the poor quality of the accommodations.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It's the first time I've traveled to Japan and felt scammed. Prior to booking I thought all the positive reviews on these travel sites meant that this would be a comfortable stay but there has to be something wrong with most of the positive reviews. There are far better options in Tokyo at a similar or even lower price point. Avoid Hotel Hillarys Akasaka unless you’re okay with overpaying for subpar...
Read moreOkay place to rest your head. Stylish design and look, but small and strange layout.
Staff was friendly and fluent in English and admitted us without incident.
After exiting the elevator to our floor it felt like we entered a hallway from a Stanley Kubrick film which was both cool and disconcerting at the same time.
Unfortunetly, the room itself was quite small even by Japanese standards. The bathroom sink, mirror, counter/desk were all outside the bathroom next to my partner's bed. As well, we could, at times, quite clearly hear our neighbours through the wall. Our window could open slightly but interfered with the blinds which we couldn't figure out how to operate.
What the Felice has going for it is being in the heart of a busy and popular food area. There are a handful of good restaurants right around the corner.
The hotel, I think, ought to advertise more towards business clients, or solo travellers that are staying for a short while. Families, couples, and anyone else looking primarily for comfort and space should best...
