Welcoming, clean, looks well maintained 😊 alot of stairs dependant on which way you come at this but there is an escalator close by if you struggle with that, I recommend going early, pre 0800,i imagine this one gets busy for the photographs, but we got in before the Instagram eras, please respect the local culture and be quiet...

A hidden gem. I missed it the first time as the Hei shrine tends to get a lot more love and notability. The thousand tori gates leaving to this shrine is a beautiful sight to see and great photo opportunity. Quiet and hidden. Beautiful shrine! Love the sounds of nature around it too. Can get very hot during the summer but this shrine makes for a great photo shoot spot. There were other visitors but there are also many opportunities to take pictures in and around the shrine.

福知山藩主松平忠房の邸内に祀られていた屋敷神と伝えられます。1659年(万治2年)に日枝神社が麹町隼町から移転してきた際に日枝神社とともにご社殿が建立されました。現在の山王稲荷神社御本殿は、この時に造営された可能性が高く、関東大震災、昭和20年の東京大空襲で日枝神社の各種社殿が焼失した際も被害を免れて残りました。こうした経緯や関東地方には希少とされる縋破風形式の春日造であることから、千代田区によって文化財指定されています。 また、狛犬さんも千代田区指定有形民俗文化財に指定されています。こちらの狛犬さんは1820年（文政3年）、神田神社境内に鎮座していた南伝馬町天王社に奉納されたものでした。しかし、1885年（明治18年）2月13日未明に神田神社周辺で起きた火災により天王社本殿などが焼失したため、南伝馬町（現在の中央区京橋一～三丁目）の氏子たちは新たに日枝神社境内に鎮守として祇園社を造営しました。狛犬は1901年（明治34年）に日枝神社境内に移転、再設置されたと考えられます。こちらの狛犬さんたち、悪いものは中には入れないという強いお力を感じます。 山王神社授与処にて狐の御眷属が大小で販売されています。お願い事を書き加えて御神前に奉納するもよし、家に持ち帰り神棚にお供えしても見守ってくださると伺いました。ご祭神は、稲魂神様です。 御社殿向かって左手には山王神社千本鳥居の坂があります。まるで異世界へ繋がってしまうような不思議な空間が広がります。
