Taste: Ordered a glass of Matcha Honey Lemon Soda, delicious and refreshing in this hot summer time. This shop mainly serves coffee & match and some bakery items.
Nice looking cold drink I got in this summer day, look and taste refreshing. For the taste, it balance out all fav components ( Lemon, Matcha & Honey), the sensation of Soda can elevate the flavor and make a drink more refreshing, & vibrant. Is a great one for my afternoon break.
Atmosphere: The order counter just right at the narrow entrance. After you ordered your drinks, you will get into a stylish cafe which is a converted by a former public bathhouse. That’s a causal free seating cafe, I picked a bar table to chill and enjoy the drink. Loved how they kept the original tiles and setting, and filled the space with all sort of greenery and retro furnitures.
That’s really an Instagrammable neighbourhood cafe in Nezu., supervised by Glitch Coffee & Roasters, specialised in Match & coffee. Staff provided excellent service, ver nice &...
Read moreI visited Miyano-Yu after following them on Instagram. It is a converted bathhouse that now runs as a espresso/matcha cafe ( no food) in Nezu.
Staff spoke English and the menu was in English also.
There are some nice touches like retaining the lockers mosaics and taps for the foot bath. It’s also amazing what you can do with a few pot plants to transform a space. The ambience was nice and peaceful that was until a bunch of German tourists arrived and killed the peace by talking loudly across each other like they were in a German beer hall ☹️.
I had a matcha lemon soda float which was surprisingly nice and my travel buddy had a strawberry shaved ice which was nice and refreshing. What was not so nice was the price. I think the float at 1,000 yen and the shaved ice at 1,500 yen (which essentially is just frozen flavoured water) were expensive in comparison to other places.
Note they don’t serve food at all ( it’s literally espresso and matcha) just drinks- would be nice if they served snacks but I guess it’s better for them - no wastage at the end of the day. So if you’re looking lunch you’ll have to go elsewhere.
It’s interesting to come here for the novelty (although there are other sento converted into cafes in Tokyo). It’s probably not a place I’d make a special trip to...
Read more3.5 stars There's a time limit here so you have to be careful not to stay too long and they will remind you that your time is up
The drinks are really fancy and are pretty big in size compared to other coffee shops
It's interesting that this used to be a bathhouse. The chairs are so uncomfortable that you wouldn't want to stay longer than the maximum time limit
The staff seemed really busy and I wouldn't say they're unfriendly but I would also not say that they are friendly
They don't really have anything to eat there. I was really surprised that it was mostly just drinks
The matcha affogato... Had amazing green tea from shizuka which was super frothy and nice but the vanilla ice cream tasted really cheap. It was such a pity.
They had tons of trees and plants inside so that was kind of cool and it was nice to look at the bathhouse murals but it's not a very relaxing cafe.
There were a lot of people there on a day so I guess it's an ideal date spot. But if you have a gathering with a group of friends it's not the best place to go.
It might be better and less crowded on a weekday so I recommend going on a weekday when you can enjoy it. The type of people in the crowd... People in their twenties and people with...
