Matsuya Akasaka — Restaurant in Tokyo

Extremely convenient 24/7 curry house. They do some other dishes as well, but curry seems to be what it's known for.

It's self service with English options. Once you finish your basket and pay at the self service machine, you get a ticket with your number and then it's a matter of monitoring the screen for your number to pop-up under collect.

The staff aren't too talkative but they also don't need to be due to the self service. You only interact when you pick up the food and if you need any assistance, which I didn't at the time. They seemed to be used to foreigners so no trouble should arise.

The food itself is your nice average curry with nice, sticky, steamed rice. I also had a can of asahi which paired excellently! The meal + the drink cost me around 1100...

This Matsuya branch is significantly larger and more comfortable than the one in Shinjuku. It's also conveniently located very close to Asakusa Station, making it easily accessible on foot.

This time, I decided to try their hamburger curry. The curry sauce had a sweet flavor, which was a new experience for me, but surprisingly, it was quite delicious!
