Full disclosure: I didn't love the food.
I got the Shoyu ramen with extra noods (950 + 150 = 1100) which is pretty usual nowadays. It was supposed to be "packed with flavor" or something of the sorts but it was mostly "packed" with oil. Don't get me wrong, the broth was pretty okay taste-wise, just the fact that it had so much oil that made it feel absurdly heavy and made me feel a bit like a slop pig from the 3rd slurp onwards. This is the 2nd spot in my entire month-long trip where I couldn't finish my broth, and the other was because of sheer size, not the taste.
The main toppings/ingredients (2 little mushrooms and an almost comically small chashu piece) were cooked just barely to the point where they were enjoyable (meaning hard to chew, but taste-wise they weren't bad). The noodles, again, felt at first like they were cooked just enough to be edible yet not much more. But(!) I will say that the noodles actually grew on me by the end since they got a bit softer and were actually the best part.
The service was great, kind friendly faces and sprung from their place to help me order, very nice :)
The atmosphere was okay. The spot it's in is a bit too posh for my taste and the vibe of the restaurant felt like they were trying a bit too hard, but overall pretty pleasant dining experience, had all I need for a meal and hid in a little nook of the shop to eat my ramen :^]
Overall, a 2.5/5 for me, but if you like an oily broth, firm noodles, a posh food center vibe and great friendly staff it might be a good...
Read moreI had the Shoyu special ramen today from Ramen Mozu. They also offer Shio style, Dan Dan, and Tsukemen if you prefer. The shop is small with countertop seating style only, it feels cozy.
The broth is complex, rich, and has a lot going on. I can taste many different elements. A strong hint of ginger is there too, which complements the flavour well. It is rich but on the lighter side, not creamy but soupy. Slightly salty but not too overpowering from the soy sauce base. I believe it is quite well done. The presentation is wonderful, and garnished beautifully. The noodles are very thin and soften up nicely in the hot broth. Egg is cooked well although it lacks a marinade. The thinly sliced chashu is tasty as well and it even comes with soft wontons. The wonton filling is also complex with deep flavours and I can taste the herbs in there as well. Overall a very high quality ramen, with a decent price too (only ¥1,400). I...
Read moreThis was our first meal in Japan. Overnight flight from London so we were hungry but also very tired. We had a walk around the Biz Tower eateries reading the menus. We stopped at Ramen Mozu and probably spent more time than others reading their menu that the chef came out to guide us. We were ok with the menu but needed a little guidance using the ordering ticket system, which actually is easy. I had the ramen with crisp coated pork. The broth was soy and other ingredients and tasted fabulous. My daughter had the ramen with wonton salty which again was cooked to perfection, small bowl was more than she could eat. This was a great start to our holiday and it is a nice restaurant. Food was cooked to order and to perfection. Very reasonably priced but bring...
