Pros : very close to public metro, high-level of cleanliness ( like every hotel in Japan), service is perfect for the hostel standard.
Cons : if you travel with a suitcase I strongly recommend to avoid this hostel, basically you don't have any space to put your luggage in B1 and 1st floor, and the hostel do not allowed you to put your luggage nor hanging your clothes in the room for the purpose of maintain the good image of hostel which in my opinion is absurd.
I was staying for 2 nights in this capsule hostel and I was traveling with my parents. Due to some personal reason I don't choose to stay with my parents in a hotel but I did backpacking in AUS and in SE Asia and I know Tokyo like other capital city in the world it's expensive to find a cost-effective place to stay but i am not looking for a luxury service so this hostel suites my needs.
Japanese culture is very extreme in my opinion for the level of politeness, cleanliness. In my case for check-in, the lady didn't tell my clearly for what should i do with my suitcase so i end up put my huge suitcase in the room and I learned the day of check out that actually is it not allowed. I don't blame for the limitless of the staff's english level since I can't speak a word of japanese too it just i found this concept of storage luggages in this hostel is ridiculous.
I always stayed with my parents for sightseeing in Tokyo and I went back to the hostel late. I received these papers one night told me to remove my suitcase in the room. I am sorry for bothering the staff but I feel like they should have told me clearly what i should do with my luggage. Secondly, they want to keep high standard of sleeping quality in the room which for me is ridiculous. Because every guest comes and goes in different hours, surely it's going to be noisy at some point, if the staff demand all the guest to delivery 100% quality of quietness in the room it's ridiculous. ( and how about the guest who snore? ) Secondly, the hostel wants to keep a beauty image of the hostel so they do not allow guests to use the HUGE space in the room to put luggage, nor hanging your clothes ( i mean, they are ALREADY seperate male and female, I don't think hanging my underwear can bother someone ? )
For the check out day I apologised to the staff about my behavior and I told her nobody told me what to do when i check in and I also suggest her they should let the guests use the space in the room but not just in B1 or 1st floor. Unfortunately the staff just keep apologising to me without understanding anything ( or she did understand but in japanese culture you just always have to apologise even if you do nothing wrong) I mean this is a chain hostel and this girl works here it's not likely she can change the whole concept of the hostel. But i was hoping at least a little suggestion can help them to improve this absurd and weird concept of storage luggage in this hostel.
I was working in a hostel in Taipei before and for me the hostel should designed for the convenience of travellers for resting, but not keeping the good imagine of the hostel and deliver 5 star service like luxury hotel.
To conclude, i am not looking for a service of five star hotel but just a place to sleep. Japanese tent to delivery the best service to all the guests and in my opinion is really too much but i also understand this is just how it works in the...
Read moreI went with my daughter on a trip to Tokyo. I let her book the hotels, and she chose this one for the night so we could experience a capsule hotel. The experience was truly one of a kind. The staff was great—she explained everything very well. Here are some things to keep in mind:We arrived from the airport pretty late, and the only trains still running were a 40-minute walk away, so getting there was tiring—but scenic! We got to see some late-night culture, although most places were closed. Halfway through, we ended up taking an Uber because some roads were closed. We entered the lobby, where people were still up talking and chatting. The staff member explained that no phone calls are allowed in the sleeping area, so you’ll need to go down to the lobby to make calls. She gave us each a bag with two towels, pajamas, slippers, and a card with our locker and capsule numbers (the lockers open with a QR code). There was also an option to grab toothbrushes and other toiletries, but we had brought our own. There are two separate elevators that take you to gender-specific floors. One floor is the locker room with showers (equipped with various soaps), sinks, and mirrors to get ready. Even though it was late, the locker room was still lively with people packing or unpacking. I believe the rules say you shouldn’t bring your bags upstairs, and the locker room is where you’re meant to keep them. I wouldn’t suggest bringing large baggage, though, as it probably wouldn’t fit. The hotel does offer baggage storage, but we left ours at the airport since we were only staying a few days. The lockers are about the height of an average person and about a foot wide, with hangers inside—which I found really useful. The showers were great, with both a handheld shower head and a ceiling-mounted jet stream, which I really liked. Everything was clean! After changing into your pajamas and putting on your slippers, you head upstairs to the sleeping area. I found it so cool to see the little capsules—you just climb in, and there’s a mattress, pillow, USB outlet, and two small shelves to place your things. The entire floor has white noise playing, which helps blur out any sounds. At the foot of your bed is a curtain you pull down for privacy. Surprisingly, the capsules didn’t feel cramped—they actually felt weirdly spacious!Toward the morning, there are more people hustling around, which might wake you up, but if you have earplugs, you’ll sleep like a baby. In the morning, it wasn’t too busy in the men’s area, but my daughter said the women’s area felt like a fun, collective girls' party. Many ladies were doing their makeup and hair, and although no one spoke English, everyone smiled at each other and was kind. (It did get a little crowded around the sinks later in the morning, with some women waiting their turn.)Overall, I really recommend this place for light packers and people who want to try something new. I saw some reviews mentioning a smell like feet, but I didn’t have that problem at all. Everything was clean, and the Wi-Fi worked everywhere....

Plus Interesting experience with a hotel that's mostly based on design that makes it unique to me and why I chose it it's not as boring as most hotels but also not as comfortable it's an experience Pods have USB outlets no plug outlets though WiFi is extremely good I'm getting 20 megabit down 75 up so if you need wifi for work you won't have to worry Pricing is really good and it seems I got a lower price than my booking app reservation unless you also have to pay every night during the daily check out
Minus No door for the pods you can't leave anything in there at all and the lockers are a level down not very convenient at least have a small locker near the pods so you can put your shoes and jacket in
Shoes are not allowed near the pods something they failed to tell me I had to find out myself and the locker down is the only place you can put your shoes or anything for that matter so you need to take the elevator to get your shoes to then be able to leave the hotel this is very inconvenient and does not encourage frquently going outside the hotel
Showering is so illogical, you have this little paper to open the lockers you can't leave your clothes anywhere but in the locker you have to undress in public and put your clothes inside the locker then bring the little piece of paper inside the shower with risk of ruining it with water as this key card is just a qr code on a piece of paper it would be better if there was a little storage container inside for your clothes you do get lounge clothing but Noone explained what it's for so I assume it's for being more comfortable around the hotel which again is inconvenient as you need to take the elevator to get your clothes so it's pointless to wear those clothes
Forced checkout every day between 10 am and I think 2 pm the only place they have to be is the reception area with extremely uncomfortable chairs and to me that hurt just after one hour sitting on them so you need to leave the hotel when it's the daily checkout I do not recommend staying during this time as it would be really uncomfortable
Beds are pretty hard but you get used to it it's not a deal breaker to me the pillow is also strange like it's filled with rise so it's not very soft but it does shape itself pods are also pretty cold I was freezing, though now that I showered I'm not freezing any more so this may be a personal thing
edit as a response to your response my suggestion is to have two different ways to stay, one being sleep only one being with lockers then you can choose if you want the convinience of a locker or if you want quiet, the pods themselves could also be better quality from a designpoint, i would have actually paid extra for higher quality pods that aren't just scratched plastic, so my suggestion is go further on the design concept, as thats what i love...
