I just finished my stay here and as a solo female traveller with just one large suitcase and one carry on, I absolutely loved it.
Yes the rooms are small, with a little patience I could lay out what I needed and put away what I didn’t. They had different types of pillows that you can choose from, but they are smaller than the ones I usually use at home. I still managed to sleep fine.
I felt very safe the entire time, ( esp on the female only floor) and enjoyed the use of the onsens at night after a long days walk. The breakfast for 1500 yen offered natto, noodles, eggs, sausages and salad as well as a choice of healthy organic soup or smoothie- really wished I could have gotten one of each rather than have to choose because I wanted to try everything!! Even so, I really liked the organic concept.
This hotel seemed to put a lot of thought into the experience of the traveller, including fresh towels and water at the door, lots of toiletries like razors, toothbrush and more. ( although it was missing lotion, which would be very nice to have after the hot bath).
The location is also EVERYTHING!! The main two metro Akasaka station and Akasaka-Mitsuke are so close ( and the walk is enjoyable) you can get to any major attraction like shibuya, shinjuku, ginza or harajuku in just 20 short minutes. I will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone.
For this price, the thoughtfulness, location, and cleanliness was worth it for me. There’s no ‘perfect’ hotel but this hotel set...
Read morePros: Great location easily accessible to all the main areas of Tokyo with little fuss. Easy short taxi ride to tokyo station (I paid ¥2300) too if required for a stress free trip to the airport express on departure day.
Cafes and restaurants nearby so you don't really need to book with breakfast.
Having an onsen bathe facility is great. Although it is on the small side.
Cons: Room is rather compact and more suitable for a single traveler, there isnot much space to open up a large suitcase and there is not wardrobe nor iron/ironing board available in the roo. The toilet is even smaller, even though it is not a prefabricated unit, the space is pretty similar and the toilet bowl is also on the smaller side. (I am about 1.8m tall)
My room's TV wasn't working when I checked in (but I managed to fix it myself)
While there is a pillow selection at the lobby, almost all are equally uncomfortable and gave me a slight headache on my last morning.
The bed is also on the firm side but this is something that I liked as I have a bad back and it was the first time in many months I could wake up without any pain.
Overall not a bad stay but given a choice, I would haved forked out a bit more for a Mitsui...
Read moreWe stayed here on our most recent trip to Tokyo. Hotel LOHAS is smack dab in the middle of a bunch of GREAT restaurants including: sushi, steakhouses, and italian! There’s a Don Quixote and DAISO right next to it in case you need any last minute gifts or luggage’s. It’s close to two different train stations and is very easy to get around.
Their amenities are very good as well. They have breakfast every morning, which they keep the menu the same however it’s very tasty! They also have a onsen that rotates when it’s open to men or women. The onsen was very very nice but cannot fit a lot of people in it unless you sit in the super super hot bath. The one that was tolerable was always filled and max could fit maybe 5 women? They should possibly made the larger bath cooler and the smaller one hotter as the hottest one was less popular.
The room itself was cozy and a nice size. You can control the temperature with a remote control and can turn off the lights next to your bed! There’s a small refrigerator too which was useful for the drinks we would buy at the 7-11 next door.
I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Super...
