Délirium Café Reserve — Restaurant in Tokyo

I usually don't go posting bad reviews unless as constructive feedback but this one i consider it was pure rudeness so it deserves a public testimony.

Stopped by in the evening to drink an espresso and a lemonade. Before joining, we said that we want only that (no food) and the guy on the counter nicely confirmed. Convinced, we stayed and placed the order as such (an espresso and a lemonade). Order came (quite slow given that place was soon to close and weren't many customers) and was decent (would rate 3 stars). Couple minutes later a girl came with something on a plate saying something in japanese, bowing and quickly evading our "wait? what is this? we did not ordered?". Being our second night out, for the first time in Japan, and trusting their "politeness" we thought that maybe is something "on the house" or their attempt to surprise us with a culinary match our order, something to go with our drinks (which is perfectly fine when good intention exists). In reality it was something (pork or chicken, could not tell) with a taste we disliked and totally unfit. Finished our drinks, payed for everything (at that point their intention was clear - let's force something on these foreigners) and ran away to never come back. Take it as advice for foreigners attracted by the "harry potter" themed atmosphere. Not so "magical" as it seems and clearly unethical attitude.

Good selection of craft beers, food also was decent. Expensive table charge. My low rating is mostly due to the nonsense of applying strictly the "maximum 2h at the table" rule. We were kicked out of the venue at 9.30pm not because the place was closing, but because we had already been there 2h. I have nothing but good things to say about this bar! Although it was a little empty when we arrived we were greeted by some of the nicest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by!

Considerate, friendly and funny !!

The beer are as to be expected when speaking of Belgian; extraordinary! I personally recommend the westmalle dubbel or trippel karmeliet.

Once again kudos to the staff and thanks for a wonderful evening; when I eventually get back to Japan I’ll be sure to come back...
