A cute little traditional tea house. You must take your shoes off when entering the tea house proper. There are a few indoor seating areas but more are on the deck outside with a nice view of the water. There are slippers that can be worn. You can get a bowl of matcha to drink (about 4-5oz maybe?) or make it a set with either a wagashi (traditional sweet) or a doriyaki (paste-filled pancake sandwich). Beautiful place to rest and enjoy an authentic Japanese matcha and sweet mochi treat during your stroll through Hamarikyu Gardens. I can recommend this to anyone passing through - visit the gardens and visit...

Pro-tip for a first timer to a Japanese tea room - don’t be like the other tourists in the line and ask the following questions which I actually heard during my visit:

Can I have something other than tea? Do you have coffee?

Fun fact - the answer to each is ‘No, as it’s...
