I would rate the service 6 stars if I could. Even though we arrived close to last order, the young gentleman who took our order kindly and patiently put up with our shameful lack of Japanese and recommended us a nice plate of sashimi with plum wine (glasses filled to the absolute brim, brought out on a dedicated “spill plate”).
I would tell you to ask them to deep fry the shrimp heads after you’ve finished the (perfectly marinated) shrimp but they remembered that even as the kitchen had already closed for last order. The tuna was so soft it melted in my mouth and I would compliment the other sashimi more if only I knew their names in English.

The server graciously and patiently explained the menu to us in English, the sake was delicious, and the food (sashimi, grilled fish) was great. We ended up feeling right at home despite being initially intimidated by the lack of an English menu.
