Had the best beef of my life (so far) here!
The course meal was good value with a variety of different cuts. There were several raw courses, and they were all surprisingly delicious! The meat was so fresh, it tasted cooked lol. Some cuts were buttery soft and melted in our mouth.
Note that you’re required to order at least a drink each. They serve noodles and shaved ice at the end of the course, so rest assure that you’ll be full.
The restaurant is located on the second floor of a short building. Lighting was dim. The entrance can be tricky to find - look for a linen door curtain with Japanese character on it.
We were lucky that our waitress was super sweet and spoke good English, which enhanced our experience. Overall, we’d recommend Namaiki to anyone, especially the course meal if you’re adventurous and don’t mind raw beef.
Reservation note: was a bit tricky since online reservation is on tabelog which doesn’t have an English site. We managed to snatch one 2-3 weeks out using google translate. If it’s an option, I’d ask your hotel if they can place a reservation for you for...
Read moreI love eating here, the food can run you about 8 - 12 $ average per person but I assure you that the meat tastes great for about 11$ you get miso soup, with meat and veggies in it, rice, a small steak with hamburger steak, and some fries with some onions I think and the rice could be replaced with bread and the miso soup could be replaced with corn soup, over all this is a great place to eat. I was eating at the casual part of the restaurant but there are also many other places above under the same building that serve different methods of cooking the meat as well as quality (the higher you go the higher the price usually)
I've been here multiple times in the past 3 years but currently this year the building is undergoing some renovation but from the inside the only key difference is the lack of windows inside so other than that there is nothing to...
Read moreThis was by far the RUDEST restaurant my husband and I experienced in all of Japan. We have eaten Sukiyaki/high end Japanese steak restaurants MANY times (it’s our favorite dish usually) during our multiple trips to Japan and this was the absolute worst experience. We know some Japanese so when the waiters were MOCKING us and speaking poorly of us from directly behind our table, we were immediately uncomfortable and wanted to leave. They offer course menus but we opted to do more of an a-la-carte option which they immediately frowned upon (don’t put it on the menu if you don’t want people to order it). The meat was fine, you can get better for cheaper elsewhere. It was our last night in Japan and we wanted to have a nice dinner that was ruined by...
