TL;DR: Nim's Pizza is a must-visit for pizza lovers, with delicious slices, fried chicken, and sides that hit all the right notes. I was blown away by the quality and flavors, returning twice in one day to try even more. Great food, friendly staff, and a unique gem in Japan’s dining scene!
Full Review:
Nim's Pizza is the kind of place that surprises you, surpassing all expectations and making a lasting impression with every bite. I’ll admit, my discovery of this spot came through the unexpected avenue of a video by Jschlatt, but after visiting, I can safely say I’d recommend this pizzeria to anyone looking for incredible pizza in Japan. The food here is so good, I found myself returning the very same day to try more.
Starting with my first round, I tried the pepperoni and jalapeño slice along with an order of chicken nuggets and fries. The pizza itself was perfection: the crust was just the right balance of crisp and chewy, the pepperoni perfectly spiced, and the jalapeños added a great zing. And it didn’t stop there—the nuggets were juicy and crispy, and the fries were classic comfort fare, done just right. The flavors are straightforward but executed with a level of care that sets Nim's Pizza apart.
Later in the day, I went back for the fried chicken, a spinach and mushroom slice, and a classic Sicilian slice. Once again, every bite delivered. The fried chicken was golden and flavorful, with that satisfying crunch and tenderness that you hope for in fried chicken. As for the pizza slices, they were a beautiful mix of hearty toppings and quality crust. The spinach and mushroom slice, with its fresh veggies and perfect cheese ratio, was deliciously satisfying. The Sicilian slice was thick, airy, and rich, proving that Nim’s can handle both traditional and creative pizzas with ease.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Nim's Pizza is warm and welcoming, with attentive staff who genuinely seem to care about each guest’s experience. Service was quick, and the staff even gave me the lowdown on some of their merch, which added a fun and unique touch to the visit. It’s clear that they’ve put thought into every aspect of their brand, making it not just a place to eat but a whole experience worth savoring.
Japan is renowned for its culinary diversity, and Nim's Pizza is proof that this diversity extends to pizza as well. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, don’t pass up the chance to try Nim's. It’s one of those rare finds that lives up to the...
Read moreAfter spending nearly 2 weeks in Japan, where we enjoyed amazing Japanese food, my wife and I were in the mood for something different. We were actually looking for dessert food when we stumbled on "Nim's Pizza" with a simple "Pizza, Pizza, Pizza" sign in front. The name comes from the owner, his name (who we met - he's there some days making pizza and playing an array of old school hip hop music).
They serve New York style (primarily, but you will find Detoit/Roma style as well). Large slices. They bought their pizza oven from NYC. We had pepperoni with jalapeños. It was so delicious that we actually came back a second time (the crust and sauce stand out). The restaurant has a diner feel to it. You can sit upstairs or downstairs or, of course, carry out.
We indulged in an Oreo dessert. It's served hot, and the best way to describe it is like beignets stuffed with Oreos. Not overly sweet, and we liked them.
They are conveniently located a few steps from Azabu-juban train station on the Oedo line.
They are open very late on Fridays and Saturdays.
One thing I'd suggest is offering Japanese draft beer.
Big thanks to Yukika for taking such...
Read moreThe food was amazing. We walked in and they led us down the stairs to a modern basement with a retro vibe. They had an iPad screen that you could order off of and then the food would come within the 5 minutes. The sweet potato fries were super good especially with the hot honey. The waffles were soft and the chicken was crispy so they went great together. The bathroom was also very cool, it had one of those doors that was seethough and then when you lock it it turns not see through and blurs which was very high tech. They have plenty of pizza options to choose from and it was all very good. I do have to say that the wing size is very small but they were very very tasty. They also have a dj booth which only runs at certain times but they have a cool atmosphere. Many people consider this to be their favorite pizza place in Tokyo. This is also a pretty affordable place and would definitely recommend. The waiters could speak some English and you don’t really need to talk to them because you have the iPad to order from. I would definitely recommend this pizza place, it...
