Visiting Pikachu Sweets Cafe during my Tokyo stopover was an absolute highlight and a nostalgic adventure. As a Pokémon enthusiast, the cafe’s cute and quirky ambiance offered a one-of-a-kind experience that went beyond my expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the charm of the café was evident in every detail. The Pokémon-themed decor and menu items were not only delightful to look at but also added an element of fun to our visit.
Despite the language barrier, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant experience. Their efforts to communicate and attend to our needs, despite us not speaking Japanese, were commendable and greatly appreciated.
The cafe’s atmosphere, coupled with the staff’s friendly and helpful demeanor, made our time there truly enjoyable. It’s a perfect spot for Pokémon fans or anyone looking for a unique and memorable café experience in Tokyo.
Pikachu Sweets Cafe is a must-visit for its wonderful combination of nostalgia, delightful treats, and excellent service. A well-deserved 5 stars for making our stopover in Tokyo even...
Read moreEdit: I added a star and have better things to say the second time around. We got the Polteageist tea which was so, so cute, and such a great experience. The coffee was good and came in a reusable Pokeball cup which you can take home. The line was still long but I think that’s unavoidable. Would recommend visiting if you’re already in the mall for the Pokémon Center.
The atmosphere and the ideas behind this cafe are great. However, the line was very long (only one register open with a 20+ people line) and the food was below average in flavor. We got the waffles (poke-ffle) and you could tell they had sat out all day before being served. You aren’t allowed to eat inside the cafe (because of Covid?) so everyone had to leave and eat in the mall hallways, which felt like an even bigger Covid risk. So I wouldn’t go back to this cafe but it was cute to visit once. The English menu was helpful (seemed to be actually translated by a real person, which is rare in Japan). The Trubbish trash can was a cute touch, too. They gave out free stickers if you posted a selfie on social media with their hashtags which...
Read morePretty long queue on a weekday afternoon when I visited in December 2022. Bought the poke-ffle set with a ice tea latte. Sadly due to covid you can’t eat in so you have to take photos of your food and leave right after to consume the food outside. Really cute concept and the exclusive merch from the shop makes it a great place to visit if you’re a big Pokémon fan. Great that they have an English menu available for foreign tourists!
People who ordered the Polteageist’s aromatherapy drink got to pour their tea out with a replica Polteageist that has its snout connected to a tea machine behind the counter which was really cool to see so a very instagrammable spot for those that do that.
Sadly, the taste of the food isn’t that great with the pikachu waffle I tasting quite blend and the tea latte was pretty watered down. The Pokémon Company really needs to QC their food better.
Overall a nice place to visit on a weekday and judging from other reviews this place is packed on weekends so I wouldn’t recommend queuing up for the food unless you’re here on a weekday with a...
