Ramen Doraku — Restaurant in Tokyo

My son and I just arrived in Tokyo and staying at an airbnb just across this ramen house. I just wanted to give a try right away because it was almost midnight.

When we got there, there were a few people still having late ramen supper. My son went straight into the ordering machine near the front door.

He ordered the no.1 choice (I forgot its name; but it has one slice of char shiu meat and a half-sliced egg). I chose the char shiu ramen (which came in with 6 or 7 generous slices of roasted pork meat)

Man, I am telling you... this is the best by far the BEST ramen I've ever had. The broth was flavorful but not too strong. The ramen/noodle texture was just about right. And the generous portions of the meat was beyond my expectation.

I'd easily give a five star for taste and its serving size. Water comes as a complimentary. The atmosphere was quite cozy with friendly staff. Highly recommended if you are in the area!

This place has the recipes. Best kimchi I’ve ever had!! It’s a small mom and pop restaurant. The young lady in the kitchen helped us order, she knew just enough English for us to communicate and she was the nicest person ever. We were struggling with Google translate and she helped fill in the blanks for us. We will definitely be going back...

【皆様にぜひ読んでいただきたい】 AM4時頃に利用。 チャーシューメン(かため・濃いめ・多め)にネギと味玉、ライス中を注文。合計1,780円。 ラーメンを食べ進めているとやはりニンニクが欲しくなった。 だが、カウンターにニンニクが見当たらない。 ニンニク2杯を入れる食べ方を店側が推奨している筈なのに、何故置いてないのか。 ザッと見渡すと他の客の前にも置いておらず、ニンニクはその都度店員に請願するスタイルに変更になったのでは…と推察。 女性外国人店員に「ニンニクください」と尋ねると「はい」と返事があったが、いくら待てども出てこない。 そしてその女性スタッフはその後、どこか(2階？)へ消えてしまった。 次は男性外国人店員に再チャレンジで「ニンニクありますか？」と尋ねると「はい」と答えるもまたもや他の作業を始めて一向にニンニクが出てこない。 私と店員のやり取りを見かねた、一番遠い席にいた爽やかな青年が「すぐに出てこないと嫌ですよね」とわざわざニンニクを持ってきてくれた。 どうやら、対岸の席にはニンニクが置いてあったようだ。 料理ではなく、作業的に調理をしている外国人には到底理解できないであろう、日本人の心の温かさに泪し、もともと濃い目だったラーメンが更にしょっぱくなった。 あの時の青年、本当に助かった。ありがとう。

朝方とはいえ、話の通じない店員だけで営業をしてるのは由々しき事態だと思う。 一応1,780円も払って食事をしているので最低限の接客はしてほしいものである。 ラーメン道楽を展開している株式会社ディーアールにはスタッフ教育と環境改善を強く求めたい。
