Google maps does not show it as an Indian place. Maybe because the layout is a bit confusing? It's actually a two-part restaurant and naan is only available in the deeper part, B2. I spotted one of the employees from across the street and followed him. His Nepali hat gave it away. Some of the staff looks Japanese, but lots of Nepali hats.
Kind of hard to describe the atmosphere, but I think in historical terms B2 was probably converted from an izakaya, possibly even a Chinese restaurant at some point. I reminded the server that we were only here for a drink and that we had just come from dinner. Thankfully, the server did not charge us and took them back to the kitchen. I normally wouldn't be annoyed by this experience except for the fact that he said we should have told him when we entered, which I did.
What if we were vegetarian? You'd bring us meat we couldn't eat and charge us for it?
Also, the restaurant had a "unique" smell...
