Food: The sushi was amazing! The fish was so fresh and delicious. Each piece was prepared carefully in front of us, with such attention to detail and finesse. The chef seasoned the dishes perfectly. We could tell a lot of creativity went into the course selection and preparation. The serving sizes were generous and everyone was given the same portions. We were presented a menu of what we would eat which included a “and more…” on the menu…. And they did serve “more”!! We were sooo full by the end of the course. Delicious!
Service: The service was amazing! Our group had 1 fluent Japanese speaker and the other 3 of us only understood a little or no Japanese. The chef and the hostess spoke in both Japanese and English with us. Each dish was explained as we were served. They also answered the questions we had, which was very nice of them. We chatted a lot with the hostess and chef. The atmosphere was great, friendly, and welcoming. We got water refills, water changes, and towel changes. Amazing service!
Overall: We had such a great time here. The chef was so generous with the portions (especially the uni)! The sushi was absolutely delicious. I will be dreaming of it. Opened in 2019 as a branch of Sushi Yoshikawa in Ebisu, Sushi Tatsuya combines traditional Edomae nigiri with a creative twist that keeps you coming back for more.
Chef Ishida Tatsuya’s mastery is evident in every dish. With 28 years of experience and training in Azabu-Juban, he’s a true artist. Watching him transform fresh ingredients from Toyosu Market at the custom-made cypress counter was a treat. His passion for sushi is contagious, and the conversation with him added a personal touch to our dining experience.
The chef's choice course was a parade of flavors, from marbled fatty tuna to extra large botan shrimp. The rice, seasoned with six-year-aged red vinegar, perfectly complemented the fresh, delicate fish. A standout was the signature thick roll of fatty tuna and egg yolk, which was a social media star for a reason!

The head chef I believe who is Yoshi was always smiling even when preparing the dishes and introduced each dish to each guest/group and you could tell he loves doing what he does. Each bite was just amazing and loaded and I was genuinely left speechless from the first dish. There was even great introduction into different fish I had not had and loved and each was prepared so articulately.
I really enjoyed watching the chefs prepare the dishes and it was a shame other guests weren’t as appreciative with one burping out loud infront of a chef and not excusing herself alongside, another family kept telling a chef she was picky with what she ate.
