A small, French-style bistro with around 20 seats. It offers both a tasting menu and, surprisingly, a casual à la carte option. Despite our late arrival due to the rain, the staff welcomed our party warmly and without complaint. The service is simply top-notch. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and unpretentious.
We chose the à la carte menu, which began with a three-piece amuse-bouche plate. We ordered the following:
Smoked salmon with vegetables, accompanied by two sauces for flavor variation—simple, clean flavors.
Pork terrine with cornichons and vegetables, served with Dijon mustard, kosher salt, and pepper. We also ordered the house-made bread, which arrived warm and soft, with a slight umami note.
Sautéed Three-line Grunt, served with tomato and eggplant sauces for variation, alongside vegetables.
Braised pork with mushroom sauce and sautéed vegetables. The pork was wonderfully tender—the flavors were distinct but never overpowering.
The total bill came to just under JPY 10,000. A great spot for dates or even family meals. Just be sure to...
Read moreI hadn't seen my friend for a while, and having agreed on French Cuisine for our dinner get together, the place that came to mind was T'astous - a quiet cafe / whiskey bar / diner tucked away from the mad rush at Azabujuban Crossing.
We had a simple Menu Parisian.
The Lobster Salad with Mango Vinaigrette entreé was exquisite.
Pan Fried Fish of the Day (snapper) followed and whet our appetite for my Veal viande - which with the bread refills sang "La Marseillaise" to my palette as it was cleansed with Artisanal Kagua Blanc. (And although we didn't have it at the time - I highly recommend their house specialtyn "kuro buta" (Hokkaido Black Pork) dishes - whichever way prepared, they are to die for!).
And the food price is spot on - very reasonable and great value for money.
The preparation, choice of ingredients and cooking / taste were well, just impeccable, as I always remember when I come here. Thank you again Chef Tsuyoshi-san :)

The service was fantastic; the food was good, but not mind blowing. The most memorable food items were the appetizers. We had a few glasses of wine which were also fine, but nothing crazy. The white wines are better than their reds.
Aside from that, the main dishes were not particularly impressionable but they were creative to a point that deserves praise.
Cannot stress enough that the service was excellent — but the atmosphere was a bit off. The sounds felt a bit echoey, and the way the room was organized felt a little… off? There’s no sense of privacy, and it’s not that you go to a restaurant expecting privacy, it’s just that it felt like there’s was absolutely...
