This is just an amazing find. First of all, kudos to previous reviewers for helping convince us to give this a try. It was so good, we went back two days later. The staff is amazing and fully able to help in English, with great explanations and advice. We ended up selecting the omakase option where the chef and presumably owner, Masaki, favoured us with a wide selection of tasting portions of amazing dishes - amazing both in presentation and flavour. Also, wonderful sake on the menu and he has excellent recommendations there as well. It is a very small place, so do make a reservation if you can, but do not be scared to call - as I mentioned, everyone there that we interacted with was very capable when it comes to communicating in English. The owner was welcoming and very caring about my food restrictions ( I am vegan but my family is not). My brothers and mother say that the beer is excellent and a must try. We got the shungiku salad (simple yet elegant), pickled oysters (light and flavourful), and sweet tomatoes (not in season but best tomato ever). The ingredients in toakari are obviously fresh and well sourced. As a vegan, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience despite the initial presumed limitations.
In short, we highly recommend this small tasteful restaurant. Dishes to try: Deep fried tofu with miso (we got three) Grilled mozzarella sandwiches Shungiku salad Fried...
