5-star tonkatsu! Very few options on the menu allow them to serve very quickly.
I’ve been there twice and ordered 上ヒレ(tenderloin) both times because I just couldn’t get enough of it. I think the 上ロース(loin) is very popular among customers because they completely ran out of it in the end but it’s a bit too fat for my liking.
I personally don’t like tonkatsu sauce but here I don’t have to worry about it because the tonkatsu is also served with sesame on the side. For the sesame — grind it and dip your tonkatsu (pre-squeezed with lemon) in it.
You can also choose from three different kinds of miso soup — tonjiru (pork), wakame (seaweed) and shijimi (corbicula clam). Personally I’d recommend shijimi! Arrived half an hour before opening and was able to get the first seating. It is a tonkatsu restaurant which is opened for dinner a few days a week run by several elderly seniors. Ordered the top loin which consist of lean white meat with a darker meat section on top between two layers of fat. It was a quality cut of meat; very tender and flavorsome especially the top section, and the panko coating was cooked well without falling off.
