Unagi restaurant Sumika — Restaurant in Tokyo

I am from Korea and I wasn’t really fond of Unaki but this place is amazing! Me and my husband and my best friend’s couple went to Tokyo for a trip and my friend found this place. First I wasn’t sure if I’m gonna like it but once I had a bite, I was in LOVE!! It is so soft and sweet at the same time. Sake, they recommended blend perfectly with unaki. There’s two type of unaki that we could’ve choose and we ordered two each.(One was softer and one was cooked more. Don’t remember the name though😅)Also there was a staff who could understand Korean so it was easy to order. After we had an amazing night there, I could not forget this taste!! so after three weeks, I revisited here with my parents and my brother. I really really wanted to bring my parents to this place so I tried to make a reservation through app, but it was impossible. I even asked one of my friends who live in Tokyo to make reservation for me, but she couldn’t. So I personally contacted through Google app message. And I told that I really want to visit here with my parents again because I had an amazing dinner. Fortunately there was a spot left so we could’ve make a reservation. The second time I visited with my parents was awesome again.

And here’s another story. after came back from Japan, I figured that I am pregnant! this proves that I really enjoyed the night and had a great night with my hubby ha ha💘 It could’ve just been a coincidence, but having this great experience and having a baby is such a blessing 🫶🏼 (Even my friend’s couple is pregnant! A day aprt from me!!😂😂)Thank you for great dinner and unforgettable memories. I remember you’ve provided great Sake which was not for sale 👍🏼 It was really touching, and I don’t regret revisited with my parents. I really appreciate it and I hope I can visit here with my baby again in the future🥰

저는 한국에서 왔고 우나키를 별로 좋아하지 않았지만 이곳은 정말 끝내줍니다! 저와 제 남편 그리고 가장 친한 친구의 커플이 도쿄로 여행을 갔는데 제 친구가 이 곳을 발견했어요. 처음에는 제가 우나키를 좋아할지 확신이 없었지만 한 입 먹어보니 사랑에 빠졌어요!! 너무 부드럽고 달콤해요. 사케, 그들은 우나키와 완벽하게 섞을 것을 추천했어요. 우리가 고를 수 있는 우나키는 두 종류가 있고 우리는 각각 두 개를 주문했어요. (하나는 더 부드럽고 하나는 더 익었어요. 이름은 기억이 안나요 😅) 또한 한국어를 이해할 수 있는 직원이 있어서 쉽게 주문할 수 있었어요. 그곳에서 멋진 밤을 보내고 난 후, 저는 이 맛을 잊을 수 없었어요!! 그래서 3주 후에, 저는 부모님과 동생과 함께 이곳을 다시 방문했어요. 저는 부모님을 이 곳에 꼭 모시고 싶어서 앱으로 예약을 하려고 했지만 불가능했어요. 도쿄에 사는 친구 중 한 명에게 예약을 해달라고 부탁하기도 했지만 그녀는 그러지 못했어요. 그래서 저는 개인적으로 구글 앱 메시지를 통해 연락했어요. 그리고 저는 멋진 저녁을 먹어서 부모님과 다시 한번 방문하고 싶다고 말했어요. 다행히 자리가 남아 있어서 우리는 예약할 수 있었어요. 부모님과 두 번째 방문은 정말 멋졌어요.

그리고 여기에 또 다른 이야기가 있습니다. 일본에서 돌아온 후, 저는 임신했다는 것을 알았습니다! 이것은 제가 정말 하룻밤을 즐기고 남편과 즐거운 밤을 보냈다는 것을 증명합니다 ha ha 💘 그냥 우연일 수도 있었지만, 이런 좋은 경험을 하고 아이를 갖는 것은 정말 축복입니다 🫶🏼 (제 친구의 커플도 임신했습니다! 저의 하루 사진!!😂😂) 맛있는 저녁과 잊지 못할 추억들을 주셔서 감사합니다. 판매되지 않은 훌륭한 사케를 제공해 주신 것을 기억합니다 👍🏼 정말 감동적이었고, 부모님과 함께 다시 방문한 것을 후회하지 않습니다. 정말 감사하고 앞으로도 아기와 함께 이곳을 방문할...

It was such an amazing experience! I ordered the 11-course meal which was so worth it. It was my first time trying jinenjo (japanese yam), and the ways the restaurant prepares it really brought out the deliciousness of it. The unagi was also the best I have tried, and they also ask you your preferred style of eel (kansai or kantou) for the eel rice so you have the freedom of choice to enjoy. The owner and the staff were very friendly, and we had such fun and warm conversations. The owner also took the time to explain the dishes to me in English, which was really kind of him.
