YOYO — Restaurant in Tokyo

It's kinda a pity I only got a matcha latte at Yoyo, but I just had lunch and I was feeling pretty full. All the cakes looked delicious and there was a good smell lingering in the air.

The girl working there was really nice and friendly and I particularly appreciated that they wrote on the desserts labels all the allergens in each product (muffins, cheesecake etc..) which is something that should be more normalised here in Japan.

The matcha latte was good, not too sweet yet flavorful. I'll make sure to go again if I'm in the area in order to try...

I loved the staff! Girls were very sweet and prepared our order even though we came in 5 minutes before their closing time. Black coffee was tasty. I was impressed by several options of gin ;) Tried a mandarin one - easy to drink, but with a strong aftertaste of a citrus oil left on the tongue. Wouldn't recommend baked goods there. Tried a carrot pound cake (spices are too strong and off balance) and a fig pound cake (generous splash of the rum goes well with the fig, but the dough itself...

Was looking for a basque cheesecake around Shimokitazawa and this place popped up. It’s part of a little food court, with a number of shops in one spot serving up all kinds of dishes. This place didn’t have inside seating, but had some tables outside (which is kinda the thing here). The cheesecake was really good, and was nice and creamy. The drip coffee went well with it.
