I ordered delivery from here once and the food was very fresh but the portions were very small, and like a lot of restaurants the prices are higher on UberEats so I wanted to dine at the restaurant to see what that was like.
The food is sitting behind glass and I think everything is at room temperature. After I placed my order the worker told me it would be a couple of minutes to heat up (no big deal) but I heard the sound of a microwave. I ordered a couple of mock meat options, and if you’ve ever microwaved previously deep fried breaded mock meat you’d probably know that the texture is not good. One of the things I got was inedible, and everything else tasted good but again the texture was off from being reheated.
The price wasn’t bad for the amount of food that I got, I just wish it hadn’t have been microwaved so I could enjoy all of it. I do think it’s criminal to charge ¥400 for a small fountain...
Read moreGood points: Staff was nice, there's plenty of seating inside and some outdoor seating. It's not too far from Shimo-kitazawa station.
Reason for 2-star food rating: Being from the US, I missed American Chinese food and while the flavors were spot-on so I gave it 2-stars instead of 1 even though it was concerning that some of the General Tso's chicken was room temp. I got a rice bowl and pretty much all of it was barely warm even though I went just after they opened. 😬
I only had the General Tso's Chicken, fried rice and lo mein but yeah, all of it was lukewarm. Definitely fully cooked, but it should've been hot, and I'm disappointed at the quality vs price of ¥1,100... Also oddly, there were no forks in the utensil area even though fried rice is very hard to eat with...
Read moreI avoided this place for a long time because the staff didn’t wear masks during the height of the pandemic, so I was a bit sceptical about the overall level of hygiene (probably not wearing hairnets/gloves during food prep). That said, they got sign in the window saying that had a good rating from some restaurant evaluation place, so I decided to give it a go.
The vegan meat is really close to the real thing. I was surprised how much the “beef” and “chicken” were like actual beef and chicken. Yeah, it’s oily, but if you don’t like oily food then don’t go to an American-style Chinese restaurant. It wasn’t packed with flavour but it was tasty in a comfort-food way. Probably good if you’re...
