非時香果 tokijikunokakunokonomi — Restaurant in Toyooka

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fine French restaurant in Kinosaki Onsen, and I can honestly say it stands out as one of the best I’ve ever visited. Having experienced many fine dining establishments over the years, I was truly impressed by the quality-to-price ratio this place offers.

The food was nothing short of incredible. Each dish was crafted with care, delivering flavors that were refined yet comforting, and the presentation was beautiful. Every course felt like a work of art, combining traditional French techniques with local ingredients that brought a unique and fresh touch to the meal.

But what really sets this restaurant apart is the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that each guest felt welcome and valued, adding a warm, personal touch that’s rare even in fine dining. It’s clear that they’re passionate about what they do, and that makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

If you’re coming to Kinosaki, it might seem strange to spend a night at a French restaurant; you might also have the added skepticism that comes with going to any new(ish) restaurant with limited reviews. But it’s fair to say that this is one of the best meals I’ve had in ages.

The food is complex and satisfyingly filling (without being overindulgent), combining French technique with distinctly Japanese ingredients and sensibility; the wine pairing is globetrottingly fun and thoughtful; and the service is warm and approachable.

城崎温泉の秋祭りの関係で、宿泊している旅館では夕食の提供がなかったため、こちらの「非時香果（ときじくのかぐのこのみ）」さんに伺いました。 幸運なことに、本当に素晴らしいレストランでした。

ワインペアリングを選び、料理に合わせたお酒を楽しませていただきました。 お料理はもちろん、ペアリングのワイン、器、グラスに至るまで、すべてが味覚と視覚の饗宴でした。

そして、どうしても言いたいのですが—— シェフの雰囲気がまるで「豊川悦司」さんのようで、 とてもスタイリッシュでかっこよかったです😎

次に城崎温泉を訪れる時も、ぜひまた伺いたいです。

因為城崎溫泉秋之祭典的關系，住宿的旅館無法提供晚餐，所以就找到了這家「非時香果」，幸好我們是幸運的，這是一家非常美味的餐廳。

我們選擇了wine pairing 作為佐餐酒選擇。

無論是餐點、搭配的酒選、餐具、酒杯。

提供了我們一場味覺與視覺的饗宴。

另外還是想說，主廚風格真的跟「豐川悅司」很像。 帥氣又有型😎

下次若是再來城崎溫泉，還是希望能夠再造訪。

Due to the Kinosaki Onsen Autumn Festival, our ryokan couldn’t provide dinner, so we found this restaurant, “Hitokikōka” — and luckily, we did. It turned out to be an exceptionally delicious place.

We chose the wine pairing option to accompany our meal.

From the dishes themselves to the wine selection, the tableware, and the glassware — everything came together to create a feast for both the taste buds and the eyes.

Also, I have to say — the chef’s style really reminds me of Etsushi Toyokawa: elegant, cool, and effortlessly charming. 😎
