Had ramen here on the way back to our hotel after Disneyland, surprisingly good and eventually we came back the very next night and I wish we would have make it 3 nights in a row. We ( 2 adults 1 child ) arrived shortly after 6pm, the place was quite packed and it didn’t take long to get our table. Surprised by the little storage for your bag/ belongings at the side of the chair or under the chair, very thoughtful indeed. Menu was plain and simple, heaps of ramen selection, couple of rice dish ( more like a side dish ), couple of entre like Gyoza and couple of alcohol selection. We order 2 Shiromaru classic ( non spicy ) and 1 Akamaru modern ( spicy ) all with extra char siew ( BBQ pork ), 1 char siew rice dish. Staff serve us free flow ice green tea, and they have 4 types of seasoning condiments at the table for you to make your meal more to your taste, 2 container of pickles ( marinated bean sprout and veggies, they are awesome to go along with the char siew rice dish ! ) Food was serve pretty quickly and the moment I had the 1st taste of the soup base, I kinda knew I never had ramen soup base this delicious in Australia or SEA, plus the cold weather out there ( 30/10 ) make the ramen taste even better! We manage to finish everything we ordered, not even a drop of soup left, a bit full but after spending whole day eating fast food in Disneyland, you can’t blame us. Grab our bill and pay at the counter before exit the restaurant and we already make up our mind to come back...
Read moreLocation: this is on the second story of a shopping center outside of Tokyo Disneyland. The map does not Indicate this, so it was a bit hard to find. It's on the balcony and is towards the end.
Wait: you stand outside in line and are promptly given a menu and asked to order before heading inside. This made the wait practically non-existent. We walked in about 5 minutes after we ordered and got our food within 1 minute of sitting down.
Food: I ordered the akamaru modern. The description states that this is a miso soup with medium-thick noodles with pork. Food was presented very well and was very tasty. My husband ordered the ippudo Karaka, which was the spicy pork broth with spicy meat miso. I enjoyed both of these ramens and felt that the tastes were perfect. I would order both again. Drinks- not exactly sure what was served. I assumed it was an iced tea, but it was placed at our table and was never empty.
Restaurant: This is a really cool space. It features ramen bowls, spoons, and noodles on the wall. The tables/chairs are on the small side, but it's not noticeable. They give bins to hold your items underneath the chairs. The staff were all very friendly and understanding that we did not speak Japanese.
I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews...
Read moreAfter traveling 22 hours to Tokyo, we were tired and hungry travelers and not sure where to eat. We stumbled upon Ippudo. They have and English menu which was welcome because I am not adept in Japanese yet.
The ramen was delicious and served with tea. The iced tea was so delicious too. All of it was an amazing experience. The staff was very nice as well. Upon further research, I believe the tea is rooibos tea. We loved our experience so much we came again the next night.
After leaving, I found out that this is a chain, there are other Ippudo locations in Japan and even a few in the US! I will definitely...
