Today is my 5th time here at this location. I was very excited to be there because in the past I’ve always had consistently great food and service here. However, today I had a VERY poor experience and hopefully somebody from management can do something to improve the situation.
Our server was supposed to be a lady but when we wanted to order, she was not around so this guy wearing a white shirt and black pants took our order. (Other servers were wearing all black) I tried to order baby back ribs and he immediately said we don’t have that anymore and I said oh in that case I need another minute. After he took my husband’s order, he slammed the flap on his ordering machine and stormed off. When he came back to take my order, he then informed me that baby back ribs are actually available. So I happily ordered that, but previously I was able to customize the sides so I said I would like to customize the sides again and he said no we don’t do that. I was confused and told him that they did it for me before so why not now? Then he said okay but it’s extra charge. I said okay because last time when I customized it they charged me 100 yen and the server at the time clearly stated to me how much extra it would be, I assumed it would be the same as last time because customizations are not uncommon in these types of restaurants, and why would you charge differently each time? Turns out this assumption was wrong. (My customization was to remove the french fries and coleslaw then add vegetables and mashed potatoes) Then he proceeded to bring us the food by slamming the dishes on the table. In between, other servers would drop off food and NO ONE else wold slam the food down like that. In the end they charged me full price of the ribs, as well as 250yen for the customization. It’s not a lot but I felt really unhappy because:
If customization is not allowed then why was it granted before? Why is there a difference in the charges when I did the exact same customization as last time? Does it depend on your mood how much you want to charge? Why doesn’t the server specify exactly how much extra will be charged during this visit? Why does the server have to be so rude?
This experience was so uncomfortable I really don’t think I will return to this particular location. It would be great if management could retrain some...

Besides the lack of customer service, my main issue is that we received the wrong food multiple times, we had missing food items in our order, and some of the food that we did receive was improperly prepared (rotten avocado for table side made guacamole, wings barely coated with any sauce, receiving mozzarella sticks instead of fried mushrooms, never received my additional order of wings). My family met another family and the staff made no attempt to seat us together. We were sat by the cold door which was constantly left open. We ended up pushing multiple tables together ourselves to accommodate our party. Also, the wait staff was inattentive and did not come to our table when we tried to flag them down. Read moreWe came for a meal to celebrate Halloween. To be honest, we were a little worried because our previous experience at a different restaurant upstairs at the same building was disappointing in both the food and the service.
However, we were so pleased with our visit this time☺️ The staff members were all young, nice, and very welcoming. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Halloween, which made us feel really excited, almost like the great feeling you get right before entering Disneyland.
In particular, our male server who was in charge of our table was fantastic—he kept up conversations, which made the whole experience even more fun!
We definitely plan to visit again...
