045 Pizza MYRO — Restaurant in Yokohama

Every great neighbourhood in the world has a solid slice shop that holds it down. Some form of hot/lukewarm, triangle cut carbohydrate that people will grab on the go and scuttle off with trying to chow down and not burn their faces off. In my third home of Yokohama (横浜) in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan, 045 PIZZA MYRO carves out its position where so many wouldn’t attempt over the many bakeries and patisseries in the surrounding wards.

It’s a perfect stomach liner or coming-downer. Puffy and slightly doughy up top but crisp like you left it on a Hilux hood in the summer, the cheese and toppings were surprisingly quality which perhaps breaks the would for the first time that pizza should look as good as it tastes. Lots of baseball-themed decor, with a bunch of reggae references mixed in (music, posters, etc.). Slow night this evening, but very attentive service. Good, American-style pizza. I was there around lunch time. There was no eating in, just a counter. The chap was polite and spoke English. The pizza was whatever was on display. Selections ran out quite quickly as the queue got shorter though. Good value for the money. Probably a good idea to get there early to get the pizza...
