CHAO THAI YOKOHAMA BAY QUARTER — Restaurant in Yokohama

On 15 April 2025, lunch time. My chinese friend want to eat Thai Food. So, I choose this restaurant coz it is near Yokohama Station. This is my first time for this restaurant. Rice is hard & dry but side dish and dessert is good. I am not impressed with the staff, I am not sure she is Japanese staff or not. She is not young, have a short hair and tied up hair. I try to order via qr code which show on the table but before I submit I ask her again then she shout at me and my friend that the qr code it is not for lunch time. So, I look at the menu and order, she still use the high voice of tone to explain. It made me feel bad...

Thai restaurant! You can enjoy your meal with taste of original thai style. If you visit here for lunch on weekday, you could get some extra service free of charge. Mostly it is crowded with foreigners who come to Japan for sightseeing. It also has some of outside seats for people who want to enjoy the ocean view and the cool breeze. Questo ristorante tailandese propone piatti autentici e, nel complesso, abbastanza buoni. Si ordina tramite QR code, ma la connessione è incredibilmente lenta: le immagini del menù ci mettono un’eternità a caricarsi, sia con il mio telefono che con quello del mio amico, nonostante usassimo operatori diversi.

Il servizio è minimo. Dopo aver ordinato, abbiamo dovuto chiedere espressamente dell’acqua, altrimenti non l’avrebbero portata. Il personale, così come buona parte dei clienti, è tailandese, il che rende l’atmosfera molto autentica. I sapori però erano un po’ diversi da come li immaginavo: buoni, sì, ma non del tutto in linea con le mie aspettative.

Il conto è stato di circa 6.000 yen per due persone, un prezzo piuttosto alto. Considerando che il ristorante si trova dentro un centro commerciale, può anche avere senso, ma resta comunque un po’ caro.

Nel complesso, è il tipo di posto in cui magari tornerei ogni due o tre anni. Se siete curiosi di provare una cucina tailandese autentica, vale comunque una visita. Per me, un’esperienza...
