STEAK HOUSE Gottie's BEEF CUBIC PLAZA Shin-yokohama — Restaurant in Yokohama

I was around the area (Shin Yokohama st.) and decided to have a nice lunch. This place looked nice so wanted to give it a try. Atmosphere is very meh, nothing special, but it’s ample enough. The front staff, I don’t know if it was a long busy day, but all of them looked as if they didn’t want to be there. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s not their fault but the managing team. I’m not expecting an awesome welcome with balloons and people jumping around, but these girls just look as if they didn’t have any soul. Then the food: it took time, but that’s normal for a steakhouse. Decent size, nice quality, but the cooking was just awful. Somebody has to tell the kitchen that steaks must rest before serving and that medium-rare and raw are two completely different things. The centre of the cut was cold, even though it was served on a hot plate. Was it put on the grill straight from the fridge? Such a pity a nice piece of steak was spoilt in such...

WOW. The mash potatoes were amazing. The steaks were terrible. I ordered aged pepper steak and my wife ordered a ribeye steak. Both were chewy and difficult to cut with a steak knife and impossible to chew. We told the food server who just ignored us.

If you want some awesome mashed potatoes then this is the place. Don't get steaks at this restaurant, you will be disappointed...

As an American visiting Japan, I have to say the ribeye was amazing. Perfectly cooked and so much flavor. Best I've had in a long time. The staff was very patient and accommodating considering I don't speak any Japanese. I'll be back...
