Asakusa Shokuya — Restaurant in Yuzawa

Nice place, but you get the first taste based on the human interaction. Most staff were very nice, the lady that serviced us (when we called her politely for service) had a stern face without any kind of welcome or smile, but instead told us to wait. (To note my wife is Japanese) so that almost set the tone. The food itself came at good speed and was not bad at all. The sashimi was okay not great for the price (¥2000) (see pik). The chicken n cheese Harumaki (spring roles) were surprisingly excellent, however you could not taste much cheese. Overall good place, and would be 4 star had we felt a little more welcome by the waitress. Good felt a little less par on cost...

I don't know why this place has low rating. The food is great as you can see in the pictures I posted. The food is different from Tokyo area food. Sake and beers are different and taste good. Atmosphere is also great. They accept foreign customers with open hands. Not too far from Echiko Yuzawa eki. Also quite close to Yuzawa kogen ski area. Try one of few dishes from meshi Gohan. Great and convenient location. The staff was attentive and quick to serve our orders. The place is not big, but it has space for around 20-30 people. The food was good.
