I arrived in Amman Thursday late at night and left my wonderful Carob Hostel super early in the morning on Friday to find a spot to drink my 1L Turkish coffee and discover the city.
Unfortunately for me, Friday is their free day. Like our Sunday in Europe. The city started to be in movement, souk was open with screaming guys on the street.
I found an ATM and decided to hit the stairs direction the famous Rainbow street. On my way I saw a 🐫 and fabulous. An open coffee.
At the beginning I didn't really understand what a feteer was. But then after 3 coffees I decided to take one and it's kind of tinny skin calzone filled with whatever you want inside.
The cheese one was delicious but take care of your diabetes and if you can't share it, take just half portion (fully enough, trust me).
So I was at that place on day 1 and I return there on my last day for another Feteer (garlic chicken). I took half this time and it disappeared in my stomach in a second.
I don't know if it's really typical but it's so damn good. So highly recommended when you get tired of...
Read moreAs a regular customer of this restaurant, I am beyond disappointed with the terrible experience I had today.
I ordered three small pies, yet was inexplicably served three large ones. Being the reasonable person I am, I decided against sending them back, thinking it was an honest mistake. The waiter was informed of this, and what did the owner/manager do? A careless shrug of the shoulders! Absolutely unbelievable.
But the incompetence didn't end there. I also ordered a sweet pie, clearly stating that I wanted it after my breakfast. Guess what? It arrived with the breakfast. When I politely pointed out the error and requested it be brought later, the same pie reappeared a staggering 30 minutes later - cold and dry! It was inedible.
To add to all that, the bill arrived, charging me for the three large pies (that I didn't order) and the sweet pie (that was inedible).
This level of incompetence is frankly appalling.
When my wife complained to the owner, she acted ignorant and simply...
Read moreI'm retired from the Fine Dining industry in California after 26 years. I'm visiting from the U.S.A. My girl friend & I live in Rainbow St. I love 'Fattayer.' in Jordan. After we walked earlier into another 'Fattayer' place and they were out of spinach; we decided to walk on Rainbow St. to find another place to eat. It was our 1st. time dining there after we walked into it & started talking to the guys about the menu. They were so helpful, friendly & professional. The service was great. The 'Fattayer' were made with different kind of dough, that i ended loving more than the standard 'Fattayer' because i don't like standard-bread that much. Their soft, thin, crispy and delicious crust nailed them 5 stars. Caesar salad was also very good. Karkaday drink was perfect and not too sweet. My girl friend also loved her lemon-mint drink. WE had a great time. Thank you...
