Nu Fifty Two — Hotel in Amman

Arrived to find the apartment was not yet cleaned (dirty dishes, old food, trash, unmade bed). Contact with the property manager, Yara, was frustrating (5 texts over 6 hours just to get the entry code and yes we had clear cell service) followed by complete lack of care when we spoke to her to report that the apartment was not ready despite arriving on time (actually ½ hr past check in time). She rudely accused us of showing up early - not true and especially odd considering she finally responded to our messages and knew of our location and timing several hours before we even arrived. Yara expressed no sympathy, nor even an apology, just suggested we go have a late lunch. We declined, canceled payment, and booked another hotel just 5 minutes away. I’m sure the grandchildren of these apartments restored them with love, and the place seems safe and well decorated, but I can only hope they will see this review and reconsider who should be managing...

This is a family-run apartment stay in a fantastic location near lots of restaurants.||I'm so happy I chose to stay here instead of a corporate hotel. Check-in was a breeze and the apartment was so clean, modern, tasteful and comfortable with a great view.||Because I was there during Ramadan, I asked the manager if he knew where I could buy some wine. He didn't know but he mentioned this to the owner and before I knew it, the owner came by with a Jordanian bottle from his own collection! ||He was also great in arranging transportation to the airport and made sure I had everything I needed. This place really provided a personal touch that made me feel right at home which was key considering I was traveling alone.||My only complaint was that I couldn't seem to make the hot water last longer than 5 minutes but other than that, the place was perfect. The apartment sits high on the hill with a great view but the construction across the road might block this in the future as it progresses and the mixing of concrete at 7.45 am was not welcome. The apartment was small and compact but comfortable except for the timber frame bed which is located close to the bathroom entry has a protruding piece of timber which I banged into and still have a large bruise on my knee from it. The kitchen again is compact but the light switch is not visible and I only discovered on my second day that if you move the fridge to the side you can reach the switch. A simple note here would be useful. Also, disappointingly I did not receive any breakfast even though it is rated highly by others.
