A literal hole-in-the-wall food shop, making just one thing: falafel. Too bad, but that one thing is terrible. Falafel is not easy to make, well, for sure. It needs to be crunchy, not oily, hot, not cool, dense bean paste, not glue-like, thin pita bread wrap, with onion, hints of parsley or custom flavors Sorry to say, the falafel here (today) was really bad. Squashed flat, zero crunch, no bean aroma, no spices, bland taste and gooey texture...all this served on a GIANT slab of toasted bread. The bread was good, toasted well, both sides, not oily... but too much bread, not enough bean.

For 1JD this might be ok, expectations are low. But 50m down the street for 1JD you can get very good shawarma. Not great shawarma but very good. Care was taken to make it tasty, hot, textured well. Again...falafel is difficult to make well, so maybe it was the crew working today, maybe it was too early in the evening. Maybe.

Anyway, no WC, no seating, no place to...

Al Quds Falafel on Rainbow Street in Amman is a must-visit for falafel enthusiasts. This iconic eatery, established in 1966, has been serving up some of the city’s most beloved falafel sandwiches for decades.

The menu is refreshingly simple, just falafel sandwiches but what they offer is exceptional. The falafel is freshly fried to a golden crisp, nestled in warm sesame bread, and complemented by fresh tomatoes, pickles, and a drizzle of tahini sauce. For those who enjoy a kick, the spicy version is highly recommended.

Despite its modest size, the shop is a local favourite. Service is quick and efficient, ensuring you won’t have to wait long to enjoy your meal. Prices are affordable, making it a great spot for a quick and satisfying bite.

If you’re exploring Amman and find yourself on Rainbow Street, Al Quds Falafel is a delightful stop that offers a taste of authentic Jordanian...

Fatari Al Quds is a hidden gem that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment you step in, the warm aromas of freshly baked flatbread and spices draw you in. Their manakeesh and fatayer are perfectly baked, flavorful, and generous in portion. Everything tastes homemade – like it was made with care and tradition. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, happy to explain dishes and recommend favorites. It’s not just a bakery – it’s a cultural experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for tea and a pastry, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area – it’s one of those spots you’ll keep coming back to. Authentic, affordable, and absolutely unforgettable.

Magnificent! I almost passed Al Quds while I was looking for it, however there were people queuing outside so my attention was attracted. I entered the line and it moved miracously fast. While waiting I could see the big boss taking orders and arrange all the food. There were some pictures on the wall of famous people eating here. No idea what to eat, but the boss spoke perfect english. I ordered a sandwhich which I ate outside. It was so delicious I returned for a second one! Prices are good. Recommended!!
