I love Shams el balad. It’s my go to place when I want to lift my mood or to be sure my company have a great experience. Their food items are all Middle Eastern inspired with a twist. There is green Labnah ( highly recommended) which is labnah with raddish and herbs, falafel with beets,..etc. Very healthy and new taste. I recommend trying the brunch platter which usually includes most of the yummy items to try all and it is good for two to three people. They bake their bread and I always order couple loafs with me to go. The tea is also great for sharing, a pot and small tea glasses, I like Shams tea which is black tea blended with cinnamon, cloves and other spices. The venue is so relaxing and have great energy with all flowers and plants around. The atmosphere is very full of life with mix of locals and expats with different age groups, big families with kids or just group of friends or couples. It’s great for all age groups. During winter time they have heaters and there are glass doors to keep the place warm without blocking the view of the beautiful trees. There are many pretty cats who live nearby and would be present from time to time which I find cute because I love cats but if you are not a cat lover know that you may encounter a cat or too during your time there. The staff are very helpful and nice. It may be better to make reservation especially on the weekends because it gets really busy. They also have a mini gift shop area at the entrance of good soaps and candles of authentic fragrances along with olive oil bottles and...

As a returning customer, I used to enjoy visiting your restaurant, but lately, I've noticed some issues with your service that have made me reconsider. When I made a reservation for my birthday, I provided my birthdate, assuming it might lead to a more personalized experience. However, nothing special was done, which left me questioning the purpose of collecting this information. ( just a side note: Hedaia greeted us and seated us that day.)

On another visit, I made a reservation a day in advance, hoping for a nice spot outside near the trees. However, we were seated at a table that didn’t seem reserved and was far from the area I preferred. When I asked if there were better spots available, the hostess - Hedaia laughed and said no, which felt dismissive. We were then seated near the AC, and when I requested to be relocated, the hostess offered to move the AC. However, when I agreed, they only moved it about an inch, which really felt like a joke.

Hedaia also told us she would offer us a better spot when one became available, but I noticed several open spots afterward, and no one offered to relocate us until we had to ask again.

I want to empathize: the food and atmosphere at your restaurant are truly wonderful, and I have always appreciated the warm and accommodating service from Nelly and the other waitstaff. However, it's disappointing that some employees don't demonstrate the same level of...

Worst experience ever. We ordered 11 different Dishes, and we never received the last few until we finally cancelled them.

Let me explain my experience : The ordered never come together, first they bring you the Hummus, then after literally 7 minutes they bring the other order, then after 5 minutes they bring the white spoon, then after 15 minutes they bring the next dish. I mean, really ?! They literally bring the tea without sugar, we asked for sugar 4 times until they bring it after 10 minutes. We asked for bread, they never bring it unless we talked with the supervisor, even the supervisor was late to bring the bread. We ended up eating our breakfast a dish after a dish, not together. Which makes no sense at all.

Overpriced ! A 5.5 JD for Eggs ? I mean, that's overpriced for real. I know it's an expensive place, and I wouldn't mind to pay. But, the service overall was a 0 Star !! We paid more than 60 JD for a bad experience and we couldn't taste the food and feel the atmosphere.

I don't recommend this place, just find a more local place with even more delicious food for 10 times less the price and with good service.

I care about the service more than the food, i'm sorry if my review is bad. But you deserved it!

Your reputation is amazing. I'm sure you will solve this problem and be better and better as we always know...

This charming restaurant features a beautiful garden and a rustic vibe, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The food was incredible; we enjoyed hummus, moutabal, chicken wings, zaatar chicken, tomato salad, and spicy halloumi. Everything was excellent, but my favorite was the spicy halloumi. Our waitress, Maria, forgot to bring our water but offered it on the house when reminded. Maria was very attentive and sweet, and we really appreciated her service. We were also given a complimentary dessert, a berry cheesecake, which was delicious with homegrown berries. After dinner, we headed downstairs to the bar, which has a cool interior and a very cozy ambiance. I wish they had more variety in cocktails, though. We ordered a basil Orta and a whiskey sour; both were good. A small comment: avoid ordering via the app, as the orders don't seem to go through. It's best to order directly with the waiter. There is also a small shop at the entrance selling locally made kitchen accessories, art, handicrafts, candles, and more. Overall, it was a great experience, and this place is perfect for a nice get-together with friends and family.

This is probably my new favorite breakfast spot in Amman. Let’s begin with the incredible views of Amman and the Citadel. Furthermore, the winter farmer’s market was going on, so it was a beautiful thing to see while waiting for our table. The citrus collection is amazing, and also tastes amazing. The head chef Qais was more than generous in sampling multiple fruits and making sure I tried them. Now let’s discuss food. The hummus and mutabbal were delicious. The mutabbal though is so yummy, tastes fresh, and is rich with flavor. The cauliflower fritters are probably my favorite. You should definitely order those. The mana’eesh were very good, make sure you mix the cheese with zaatar, and get the cheese with olives one. We also tried the beets falafel, and the texture was surprisingly way better than I expected. We loved it. The service is top notch. The servers were very attentive. The ambiance and vibe is amazing in this place. The seats, tables, and flooring all encourage nostalgic thoughts that make you enjoy this place even more. I will definitely be back.

A truly memorable dining experience. Easy online reservation, nice staff , and a calm, elegant atmosphere. we sat under the mulberry tree which made it even more special. and Hamzeh, who was with us, was very kind. The food was delightful: the Shoqaf with zucchini garlic and herbs were outstanding, the signature beetroot falafel was unique, and the peach salad simply exquisite. Refreshing strawberry lemonade fresh juice was perfect at sunset. Dessert (chocolate mousse with tahini cream and sesame Presentation was appealing, yet the taste was less impressive and we couldn’t finish our portions) the spicy cheese, and the thyme chicken both were somewhat ordinary compared to the rest. . We wanted to try the chicken with dakkah but it was not available . Overall, a classy and memorable spot ;highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone seeking a refined experience.
