Resenzion von Petra Palace:
Just a horrible and awful experience for the price you are paying. 1 star for being close to Petra entry and breakfast and the rest us history. The first experience when we entered through the main door in the morning: There was an Arabic big lady in a room and we greeted her and there was no response from her, when we initiated the conversation about our check in process, she was very unfriendly. During check in at 18, in the evening, there was a gentleman, helpful. In the room, the safe was not working Later at night, discovered that there is no adequate lighting in the room but did not complain. Wanted to take shower, the shower was not working, so had to call the reception and asked to wait 5-10 minutes. No one came until 15 minutes, so called again to fix the shower. Someone finally came. After we spread out in the room, found some previous guests did their manicure and pedicure in the room, therefore, there was a bed of nails in the floor carpet, which was also full of sand, little stones. The room was not cleaned/vacuumed. I wanted to sleep on of the bed, the sheets duvet sheet was full of stains. Then had to check the bed sheet, which had 3-4 red/brown stains. Checked the other bed, which had, blackish/brownish stains towards the end of the sheets. Was too late and too tired to complain and change the room (if they had any), so had to share my bed with partner. Breakfast was okay. The next day, ran out of toilet papers, so called the reception, and was told to knock the housekeeping door on my floor. Knocked, banged and even tried to open it, no one responded. Called the reception again, was told to wait. No one ever came and waited 3 hours and then went to hotel restaurant to eat and stole toilet papers from there. Third day, upon check out, we had to encounter the same unfriendly lady, with same attitude. We asked for payment, it was 101,22 JOD. Paid 101 JOD and were looking for 0,22 JOD and found 0,20 JOD. No more change. She kept asking for remaining 0,02 JOD and held us there for 2 minutes. Somewhere in my bad, I found a 0,50 JOD and gave it to her and she did not give us the remaining 0,48 back. Did not mind paying it and being harassed for 0,02 JOD but no Thank you and No Bye was said by her afterwards. Think, she is in a wrong job in a...
Read moreIn a country that prides itself on its hospitality, Petra Palace treated me like a stupid tourist who is only good enough for her wallet. I am deeply offended.||My standard for mid-range hotels is not high. I'm not surprised when the towel rack is loose, the shower only has one temperature or the breakfast is not what you are used to at home. But I do expect to be treated fairly. That didn't happen here.|I traveled in a group and stayed at this hotel for three nights. When the bus, with all the suitcases already in it, was ready and we were about to leave, the manager informed the tour guide that we had soiled a towel so badly that it had to be reimbursed. Nonsense! At home, I could have cleaned this towel in my washing machine easily. Besides, who says this towel came from my hotel room? And finally, above all: if you think that I have behaved so filthy as a hotel guest, please report this to me immediately and directly.||In addition, this hotel had|no right to speak in terms of quality. A selection: the toilet seat was loose and the toilet only flushed moderately. The futuristic shower cabin was largely calcified, so that only 1 of the functions worked properly. The electrical connection of this cabin looked improper and risky. The sound volume of the air conditioning was particularly high. The stopper of the bidet could not be operated and was, when finally closed, leaking. The sink tap was completely loose. In all other hotels drinking water was available for guests, but not here. Several guests fell through the loungers by the pool because they broke. Towels were missing at the pool.||The accusation against us was completely unjustified. Unfortunately, my husband paid the 10 dinars demanded (expensive second-hand towel!) to avoid the argument because we were about to leave. The feeling I get from it all, is that this hotel has found a new...
Read moreIf I could give it 0 out of 5 I would! One of the most uncomfortable, scary and uneasy experiences of my life. I needed to book a car to take me from the hotel to Amman and asked a one of the hotel staff to help me. You would assume that if it is booked through the hotel it would be a smooth and safe option, I was wrong. The staff member wanted me to contact him through his personal WhatsApp account, not the hotel directly. From there he sent me unsolicited messages and even demanded that I see him in person before he booked my car. I knew nothing of who or what company was picking me up and no answers given when asked. I showed the messages and explained the situation to another staff member who did nothing. As for the taxi I got, that was booked by this staff member, a taxi driven by his friend, picked me up, drove 100 feet and told me to get into another taxi. After several minutes of arguing I got into the cab and left. I spent the next 3 hours in a car with a man who hit on me, tried to take me on a date half way through the drive. He literally pulled into a truck stop and tried to get me to have lunch with him. Afterwards he came back with a drink (opened) that I did not ask for and did not drink. As soon as I reached the hotel in Amman I jumped out of the car, gave him the money and ran.
Oh and don't get me started on another staff member who hung out a window to take pictures/video of my friends and I while we were in the pool.
