Coffee Milka — Restaurant in Almaty

Since I'm the first person to review this place I'm assuming it's new. It really hurts me to leave a 3 star rating. This is actually an edit. All pics are from the first trip. This was my second time there, the first time wasn't great but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they're new, left 4 stars, and went back like I said I would. This time my husband, daughter, and I went for Sunday morning brunch and it was below average. It's sad too because the place looks so nice. I really want to like it. It's the kind of place I'd love to sit and read for hours. First, he ordered a regular latte and I ordered a vanilla latte. Our Russian isn't great but we can do that much perfectly. I was served a regular latte and he was served a caramel latte!!! Simply mixing up who ordered plain and who ordered flavored wouldn't have been a problem, but I ordered vanilla and this was definitely caramel. Then, the first time we were there our lattes were almost cold and I like my latte HOT so this time I was prepared and I asked for mine extra hot. It was still served barely even warm. The food was just okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I certainly would never go back there to eat and never recommend it to any of my friends. I had some work to do, so my husband and daughter left and I stayed. After a while I ordered some tea and a piece of cheesecake. The cheesecake was terrible. It was obviously a frozen cheesecake taken out of box. I only took a few bites and left the rest. The reason they get 3 stars and not 2 is because I really, really do love the decor. The interior designer did a great job and the furniture is comfortable. I wish their menu were better because I would go there regularly. Also, the service is excellent. I have no complaints about it. The place is very clean too. It's just that there are so many clean, friendly, comfortable, coffee shops with good service AND good food/coffee in Almaty I don't see myself going back to this one, and it makes me sad. This is my first local review that was actually hard to write. Usually if I write a bad review it's easy because I'm angry...

When we sat, we realised that the table was moving, so when waiter came we said it is mowing can you fix it, he said no I can't, put some stuff under the leg... What the hack...

Besides one of our order was "Ice Latte" I mean the word ice is included in the name of the drink!

Then waiter came some minutes later and said. "Our barrista is asking if there will be ice in the ice latte!" thinking about one other cofee I visited lately, which did not put no ice to my ice latte order, asking her why no ice? she said we have no ice left. Ahahah LOL then why you are getting the ice latte order for God's sake. So thinking about this incident I can say this is ok. 😁

I recently visited Coffee Milka and had a pleasant experience. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and the staff is friendly, making you feel welcome right from the start. The food was decent, and the menu offered a good variety, although the prices are slightly higher than the average for the area.

The location is great, situated in a convenient spot that’s easy to find and access. However, one downside is that the menu is only in Russian and Kazakh. For foreign travelers who aren’t familiar with these languages, it could be a bit challenging to navigate the menu.
